I’m on the hunt for a new leave-in/styler.

My hair is sensitive to protein, and soaks water....and never lets it go. Usually takes me two days to air dry.

My go-to for years was washing, deep conditioning and then on damp hair use Cantu leave - in with Shea butter to seal. I usually got the BEST, long lasting, hydrated, twist out results this way.

The recent jars I’ve purchased have given me horrible results however...My hair looked dry, my ends would look terrible and I’d get flakes (something I never had to deal with before). I read there seems to be a change in their formulation. I gave up and started doing buns...not good for my edges.

I‘ve tried Mielle twisting Souffle...i got flakes.

Any recommendations?

If your into hair typing I’m a 4a/4b.

Just For Me leave in detangler is marketed towards children, but it's honestly still one of the better products out there after all these years.

I ran from it for years but finally I accepted that for me and my low density low porosity hair is Kinky curly. It also works on my daughters hair.

I use to use Cantu but when I tried Blueberry bliss when they used to sale the trial size at Target I was hooked. Plus they are always having specials. Friday is the curl box special celebrating its birthday.

i love ORS professional moisturizing lotion. it's in a huge tall green bottle, like 32 oz. or somethign, maybe more, and usually goes for about $12 in stores if you can even find it but that's my holy GRAIL moisturizer. Which is why i try not to use a lot since i want that baby to last for years. but it's hard to find a good hair moisturizer that's marketed for natural hair. this stuff these companies put out usually lacks the hold/weight that ORS has.

For stuff that you can probably find at a retail location (e.g. Target, Ulta, Sephora, Walmart, Walgreens, miscellaneous beauty supply store) you can try Camille Rose's Curl Love Moisture Milk, Camille Rose's Coconut Water Leave In or Kinky Curly Knot Today. If you are open to online retail (including Hattache) you might like Shescentit leave ins from their Tahiti Cocktail line, Plum Nectar and Agave line or Passionfruit and Flax line.
