I'm dedicating this thread to a younger relative who told me having layered bangs in my hair would make me look like an "auntie." Long straight hair, individual braids, wash and gos are not default hairstyles.
Everyone looked so classy back then. I wish I were alive during that time.
The stylist is absolutely correct! In our family album there are an array of braids, twist, press n curls, fros, wash n his, and what ever else. People don't seem as creative anymore. Thanks for the live recommendation. I'll have to listen to it!Thanks, OP!
The stylist Jennifer Rose talked about this in one of her IG lives. She said it was a lot more fun being a stylist back in the day because her clients would take more risks with their hair. Now no one wants to get a cut or color, everything is about length retention.
This thread makes me want to get a roller set for old time's sake.
