Yes! I read a book that mentions this theory. It suggested that VR scanning will soon be a normal part of estate planning/ purchasing life insurance. That way VR Grandma & Grandpa will still be able to attend Thanksgiving dinner and give life advice years after they leave.. Creepy. Some scientists believe we will all have avatars similar to these deepfake images. We will be able to create these avatars so our essence could survive forever even when our physical bodies are no more. The fact that the deep nostalgia pics evoke such strong emotions from others shows you how terrifying this technology can be if it is used in the wrong way.
Has anyone else tried this? You can animate your old photos and make them move using MyHeritage's "Deep Nostalgia" Tool. There have been mixed reviews on it, but so far here are the ones I like.
I was able to get my great-uncle's face to animate, just click on photo and it should pop up to the screen where his face moves and if it doesn't work, the direct link to it ishttps://m.imgur.com/8dEB8De
And here is one done for our Black History hero W.E.B Dubois
Me personally? No. I mean I do understand how some wouldn't be okay with it and I respect those who are wary of it but I personally am cool with it.Aren't you worried that uploading personal photos would be used to either monetized your family heirlooms and you wouldn't be compensated or used for nefarious things?
Thanks...I was wondering what the catch was. Are you allowed to keep your animated pics private on MyHeritage?Just so you know, you're only allowed to animate a certain amount of pics for free. I did 5, and after i went to upload another pic, it asked me to sign up for a 14 day trial. Guess I didn't read the fine print lol
Here is one of another hero... Frederick Douglass
