Dr. Jack Van Impe has a show on TBN with his wife Rexalla. She reads the news articles and he relates them to the Bible. He has been faithfully preaching that the Lord is coming for years now. They do have a video out about December 25, 2012, which is supposed to be the end according to some. They claim not to be setting dates but rather just showing "prophets, etc" who believe that the end will come on a certain date.

Anyone heard of them? Any thoughts?

They've been on for a long time now. I'm glad they're happily married after all this time, but their doctrine is somewhat questionable. JMHO

Yes, they have been on a long time.

Regardless of his doctrine, he can quote scripture unlike anyone I know.

When i first came to Christ, i read one of his endtime Books. The name of the book escapes me. Never the less, I'm always leary of those who set dates predicting the end. Jesus said:

Matthew 24:36

36"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

So if Jesus says that only the Father knows the day and the hour of the end, then how is it that those like Impe and Harold Camping feel the liberty to set dates and times? This sort of thing is very suspect. By the way, Harold Camping wrote a book called 1994 http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/harold_camping.htm. Now he's predicting (like Impe) that the world is ending 2011.

If you want a good laugh, go ahead and watch those two,

I just wish that I had a show of their's from 20 years ago, just to see how foolish that they sound, it's like he goes off into a panting fest when he thinks that he has a revelation.

Like the weathermen their just a bunch of glorified guessers!

The bible says that even Jesus doesn't know when this is supposed to happen so how would those two or anyone else for that matter know? Seriously?

From what I understand, they aren't setting dates. They are just providing information from "prophets", "seers", etc who have set dates and believe that Jesus comes back December 25, 2012.

You are right that no one knows the time or day; not even Jesus--certainly not the Van Impes. However, we are given signs to watch out for.

The Van Impes don't come out and ask for donations, instead they sell videos related to current events and the Bible.

These charlatans are taking information gathered from the Mayan calendar, Nostradamus, etc. that predicts that December 21, 2012 will bring forth a paradigm shift.

Educate yourselves. They are taking peoples ignorance for granted.

Jack Van Impe does give Bible verses that correspond to current events. If someone doesn't check out those scriptures or those given by other preachers (know what the word says for themselves), then they definitely are ignorant.

Yes, they have been around for over two decades. I've watched them since I was a teenager.
