Hydroscyamine, I take one before I eat and workout. As for the vitamins I take psyllium (I hate it), and probiotics.

I highly recommend see GI specialist if it’s getting worst. Mines put me on a diet and meds. Tho it isn’t perfect she has modified it multiple times and explains things very clearly.

Thanks I was seeing one regularly a few years ago, he's the one who recommended the probiotics and limiting gluten, but I haven't seen him in a while. I guess I should make a new appointment.

I have bowel issues. I used to be very constipated since childhood. What got me moving was juicing carrots. I forgot where i read it but it actually worked.

I still get backed up easily especially when i drink alcohol.

I’m extremely gassy, have acid reflux, and low in magnesium and B vitamins

I made my own sauerkraut a month ago for better gut health, and i’m taking a probiotic currently. I have to learn how to eat more prebiotic foods.

do you take probiotic supplements or probiotic infused drinks like Kombucha?

Both.
I'm currently taking 50 billion cultures in a capsule, but i drink Kefir and Kombucha.

Been eating more fibre as well. My bowel movements have been extremely regular lately, which is great. I've also been drinking at least 2L of water daily.

I have IBS-D that has pretty much ruined my quality of life. I’m very limited on what I can eat/drink. I recently had a colonoscopy/endoscopy things were so bad. I do see a gastroenterologist who prescribed me meds for the AWFUL cramps. They work 65-75% of the time. He also prescribed anti nausea meds recently since I’ve started to vomit with it. Good luck OP.

All of these symptoms sound like me and I’m pissed. I found out I have pcos/insulin resistance earlier this year went keto and lost weight okay cool.
I tried MSM and NAC and a clean diet for my skin, found out they balanced my hormones and lost even more weight.
I look in the mirror for the past week like “I’m 97 lbs why the fµck do I look pregnant” and turns out I’d be eating high FODMAP foods, the constipation, stomach cramps and bloating have been hell. It’s like I have to do life style change after life style change. I can’t believe I gotta give up avocado smfh...I’m going to the store to get some peppermint tea y’all want anything?

You have my deepest sympathy. I did low fodmap and jumped off last year. I will eventually return to it but it is definitely a pain because when you are already eating clean, you have to give up all of your staples that keep you from going back to junk food. I thank goodness for onion and/or garlic infused olive oil since you can't have onion and garlic either. I had to drop apples...which helped make my smoothies palatable and I loved applesauce as a snack. I couldn't eat any bean stuff...so a lot of alternative cheeses, dips and hummus were out. I used to put avocado in my smoothies too and had to stop that. I had to watch which probiotics had FOS...(I think), products and supplements(including toothpaste) that had xylitol and avoid those. I was forever googling stuff while I was in stores and on that monash ap. I did not care at all about giving up broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. At the time I was doing low fodmap, gf, cf, soy, corn and nightshade free and it was a lot. At that point I was like...f all dat. I would eat sugar (when I wanted to sweeten my food), coconut sugar, coconut nectar and maple syrup (no honey allowed on low fodmap, another pain)

You come to rely on new staples but it is definitely not easy for a while. I can just fly through stores and be like, ok can't eat that, that and that. I started eating lots of sweet potatoes, bananas, cabbage, plantains, berries, leafy greens, grapes (thank goodness), pineapples and you will have to cook any elaborate meals yourself from scratch. I found jams, jellies and sauces that did not have chicory root or inulin (which is in a lot of the whole/health food items). I found processed meat like turkey or beef hotdogs that did not have onion/garlic or other off limits ingredients. It's work but you learn and after a while it becomes routine and you are on auto pilot until you order some georgetown cupcakes and blow ever....nevermind. You get my drift.

HAHAHAHA OMG ARE WE BOTH GEORGETOWN FONTS???

And girl I applaud you, seriously. It's so hard to find people who take their health and dietary needs seriously and this sh!t is hard--like a legit full time job. I spend more time researching nutrition and formulating new sweet green custom salads than I do pretty much anything else. It sucks cause I was doing clean keto and trying to get high fiber...but ended up getting too much fiber which for IBS-C is a Nono apparently. This isn't my first rodeo in completely changing my life and eating habits--I used to eat a crap ton of breads, sweets, Mac and cheese, fried and fatty foods, sweet sauces--I ate like a kid basically lmao. There were times I could not tell you the last time I had a vegetable. I don't really eat fruit 'cause of keto so I'm not too bummed about that (tho I did have like 4 tablespoons of mango salsa today I won't lie) but I love my little simple plant-based high fiber (and high avocado) eating pattern--to hear I can't have onions and GARLIC? no baby. I'm gonna try the FODMAP thing, I see some foods are okay and low fodmap as long as they are under a certain serving size so I will try that out. I'm also a huge food finisher so I eat everything super fast at once and apparently that's a Nono too? girl.....girl.

You can do mock subs for avocado. 1 Mix a green banana, avocado or coconut oil and chia powder with a dash of sea salt/blend till you get the consistency you want. 2. Pesto, either a regular pine nut pesto or a dip style pesto where you season coconut milk yogurt, dairy free cream cheese or m.ayo or a blend of these with the pesto seasonings, if you do it without the nuts add flaxseed oil or hemp hearts to put back in the omega 3, 3 Mock salmon pate..usually done with red pepper and walnut, you can add green pepper and green onions to make it work. The walnuts have the omega's the avocado has. You decide which mock based on the dish or flavor profile you need it for.

For garlic and onion, you can used infused oils and asafoetida which is a dry season that has an onion-y taste. Also the green parts of green onions are allowed as well. For premade sauces a good site is fodyfoods.com. They have low fodmap dressings and sauces. They are also sold in many grocery stores.

I know your keto so for you you might like Impastable or Banza in addition to the zucchini noodle cauliflower rice options...or quinoa. Mastic gum and aloe vera have been known to help with gut healing. If you still have digestion issues/bloating, taking digestive enzymes will help tremendously.

I am currently dealing with digestive issues.

Does anyone know what poop smelling like perm/ammonia could mean?

I've struggled with IBS-C for years and it caused a gamut of issues some of which I had no idea were related until recently (GERD). After going low fodmap with some relief I decided to give up dairy which has seemed to make a big difference.

My doctor is also now treating me for SIBO which, as noted above, can be an underlying cause for IBS.

I keep seeing advice about eating frequently (which is something I did for a while) but I'm starting to wonder if this advice should come with a caveat, especially for those dealing with IBS-C. IBS-C suffers have sluggish bowels, meaning food is often sitting/fermenting in our digestive tract longer than it should be; contributing to further bacterial overgrowth.

I recently came across this informative video re SIBO and IBS and the Migrating Motor Complex and how eating frequency/intermittent fasting can help resolve digestive unrest. I'm giving it a go because what is there to lose and maybe it might help someone else in a similar boat

I have IBS-D and food intolerances, but recently I’ve been having more bouts of constipation. I hate going out to eat, because I never know what’s going to trigger me. Even foods that don’t bother me most of the time both me sometime.

And of course people who don’t understand digestive issues think you’re doing it on purpose. At least that what’s happened to me.
