Lol. Unless you have the miles or the money you will be sitting right next to Joe Schmo with your mask on. First class is really only worth it on long flights and that’s when it gets pricey. And you’re still sitting next to someone in first class

Some airlines aren't leaving the middle seat empty, so other people will be able to sit right next to you..........
It's funny that you asked this question because I literally told my boss earlier today that I'm going to be so excited and happy about my first international vacation that I'm flying first class! I want to celebrate! I want my free Mimosa!! And I also dont wanna be sitting all cramped up next to anyone else and their potential viruses.

We normally travel business class on long haul flights but doubt the world will be sorted and vaccinated for us to start living again until 2022. We will be doing stay cations this year instead.

I know you're sitting next to someone on first class. I booked a first class flight but the seat is singular, so when I depart no one is next to me and the flight is pretty long.............

I'm looking at Costa Rica or rebooking the Thailand trip I had to cancel last year. I'm leaning towards the first option because it's closer and a bit cheaper! Where are you going? Also if you've been to Costa Rica I'll take any tips you have!

Coach or First Class you will still be sitting next to somebody the only difference is Coach you have the "middle seat".

The best thing to do is just be prepared when you travel (wipe down everything around you, mask up, wear a shield (if you want more protection) and open the vent so that you have some air circulating.

I am speaking this into existence. I flew in first class last year before the pandemic got crazy and ya'll....they have glass cups instead of plastic. GLASS. CUPS.
I felt extra bougie.

Thailand is way better than Costa Rica . When you fly into Costa Rica, you’ll land in San Jose, don’t stay there, it’s boring. It’s a drive but they have good highways, head to guanacaste. It’s nicer there and closer to the Arenal volcano and lots of hot springs.do not go during rainy season. I say hold out and go to s.e.a. I don’t know why but Central America has always seemed boring to me. Yes, they have some great hotels (especially mexico) and if you go with a group, you can get a bomb villa in Costa Rica but I dunno. You can skip panama completely. I haven’t been to the other 3 Central America countries.

Thank you!! I really appreciate any advice and am also researching. I was told the Caribbean side is less touristy which I'm interested in. I've already been to Thailand. I went to Phuket the first time and it was beautiful but I never made it to Bangkok which is why I will go back one day. For now I'm down for something completely new!

Bangkok is fun but it is waaay different than the islands. I’m from New York and I thought it was crazy but there is a lot to do there, it’s fun. Train system is great too. Yes, the Carib side of Costa Rica is nicer.

I'm looking forward to that trip in the future! When I went I stayed for roughly 2 weeks and planned on flying into Bangkok for two days than north to Chiang Mai but Phuket was so beautiful along with the neighboring islands that I ended up not leaving! I even rented a whole long boat with captain for a day to cruise through Phang Nga Bay for only 2000 baht/65 USD. The way the dollar stretches in that country is amazing!!

Nice! I love the food there so we ate our way thru that country, lol. I went to Singapore before Thailand bc I had to knock something off my bucket list. The best part of both places were the inexpensive massages. I went to some fancier places too but yea, I was getting like 3 a week lol

Omg.... the food. I dream of it sometimes. Ironically the best meals I had were from street vendors and hole in the wall restaurants. I always look for spots packed with locals. It never fails. The worst and most expensive meal I had was in a very Americanized restaurant!

I think food wise my favorite countries in the world so far are Thailand, Curaçao and Japan. Even though I'm also from NYC the city of New Orleans is my favorite for food in the US.

Sadly not traveling this year but I am planning my trips for 2022. I’ve flown first for years now due to my bad back; can’t sit in the tight quarters of economy. I’m going to pony up for business class for those 2 long ass flights to get me to Johannesburg for my safari.

I need to make a quick trip to San Francisco and I'm hyperventilating! I really don't want to fly but the drive from Phoenix is way too long. It's just for 3 days and American has round trip for $78. First class is $427 - not bad but it's only a little over an hour flight. I like to fly first class on long haul flights.

I have only flown first class on domestic flights. I travel solo and fly business class. I have never had anyone next to me. My flight in business class on Emirates, I already told them single window seat.

I can’t fly economy more than two hours, developed blood clots on long flight. Long flights I MUST be able to stretch my legs out.

Absolutely. On the rare occasion that I’ve had to fly in the past year I’ve made it a point to book F but honestly it’s only for a peace of mind. I just needed to be guaranteed that I wasn’t sitting directly up under someone. Still, if someone on the plane has it everyone might as well be exposed. Especially during meal/drink service when everyone’s masks are off.

I wish.

those first class seat prices make me want to cry. However, I have been looking into premier and business class seats. my patience is short.

My first flight (domestic) is booked for next month! I booked Comfort Plus but Delta keeps tempting me to upgrade to first...the price isn’t too bad so I might just do it for the 4 hour flight.

The flights I have taken during the pandemic have been in first class. Mainly fir less crowding and less potential COVID exposure.
