Pipe It Down 'Fore I Whoop You Like Yo Mama Do
So as I was doing some research for another thread, I decided to peruse Billboard to check Anthony Hamilton's success. I had no idea he had FOUR #1s and ELEVEN Top 10s! Not because I don't think he deserved it, but because so many female R&B artists don't have the same success, especially the younger ones. The most successful ones are from the 90s (Brandy, Monica and Erykah) and many of their hits are from the 90s. The newer ones are successful, but not as successful as Anthony (Jill Scott, India Arie, Ledisi, Vivian Greene). It almost feels like RnB is a dying genre but his last #1 was only 4 years ago (its not in this screenshot, but it is on Billboard.com)...so whose chart success have you been sleeping on?
