As a native Houstonian, love the city, hate the traffic & transplants. Great time to be alive when The S.U.C. was active before they all left the earth or were incarcerated.

Love the city and its black culture. Love seeing us everywhere, especially in a city that’s so diverse.

I liked it better growing up. I left a little less than a year ago. It wasn’t the same. I did enjoy of course food and shopping.

Born there and my family moved to Atl when I was 12. We tried Houston again as an adult and it wasn’t for us now we are back in Atl and hell no I don’t like atl lol but my parents are here and my in laws are in Birmingham which is very close. Our parents are getting older so we decided to come back for a while. I don’t feel this is our final destination but we will play it by ear. As for the changes with Houston, too many fake transplants now and the flooding has gotten worse.

It's easier to network and the dating isn't all that but I don't live in atl
Atl sucks if the font is looking to date but per my single friends, Houston was no better. They were getting married men trying to talk to them. One of my friends even dated a married man in Houston she didn’t know he was married until months in when he started showing signs and she asked him and he admitted it. One married guy tried to talk to me in Houston and I’m married. Houston has dangerous roads too even though I moved, I still get news alerts on my phone of wrong way accidents where people get hit head on, drunk drivers, yt racist drivers with guns (my friend’s car got shot at in a road rage incident), oh and people run red lights religiously..my car almost got hit by someone who ran one. Atl traffic is a beast too but IMO people drive safer in Atl than in Houston. I also think it’s because Georgia has stricter road rules

Houston is a boring city and I don't like the highways cuz drivers can't drive worth sh!t. Galleria is nice but I can do that anywhere. The men look douchey to me an idk why people keep pushing this city for black people it's overrated and jobs don't pay well I think min wage is still $7.25. Don't forget how dumb the governor is too

For me, it's the gentrification. My aunt stayed across the street from TSU. When I left class 1 day back in 2005, and saw a Caucasian dude cutting his lawn which is the corner lot 2 houses down from my aunt, I knew a change had come. And it just got worse each yr. after. Before then, I never saw Caucasians in 3rd Ward, now called EaDo.
