I'm going on a trip with a small group for a bridal shower in December. Our flight is going to be fairly early and if there are no delays/everything goes smoothly at the airport, we should arrive to our destination around 10am. We can't check in until 4pm, my question (and it may be dumb, I've never used Airbnb) is what would you do with your bags in the meantime? When staying at a hotel, you can just have them hold your bags before check in. Has anyone had luck asking the host if you can drop your bags off early? Should we just reserve an extra day earlier so we can drop them off and head out? I hate the idea of lugging around suitcases all day. What have you done in the past?

Most the time you have to find something to do with them. Some hotels you can store your bags there for a fee even if you not staying. Also some airports have locker or storage companies that will charge you an fee for the day. Check the airport you are flying into.

Another than that ask the airbnb person can you check in earlier depending on how early . I would say no more than 3 hours from checkin any earlier good luck with that because they usually have cleaners come out in the AM - early afternoon so unit will not be ready yet

Anytime usually if I know I have a really late fly going out or Im coming in super early I will get a extra day to cover it ( Like 6 hrs post and prior to them check out hrs that the airbnb host has listed)

I have run into this issue before...I ask the bnb host if we can drop off the bags early, but not at an unreasonable time (cause they may be cleaning the bnb and/or other guests may still be there). So in your instance, I would ask the bnb host if I can go to the bnb early at around noon or 1pm.

Or you can book the day before.

Give the host advance notice and they can work something out with you. I usually have a rental car, but the rare time I didn't, I was able to work something out to check in early since the space was empty the night before.

I've definitely had them store bags after I've "checked out".

I'll try contacting some nearby hotels to see if they can store them for a few hours for us. If not, I'll work down the list of suggestions. I wanted to do a hotel but everyone insisted on renting a house smh, thank you everyone!
