Wasn't Barbie was of the first non/black owned doll companies to be inclusive...their first black doll came out in the 1970's which is kind bad it took 20 years to get a black doll out but other non/ black companies weren't dong that...
The first African American doll in the Barbie range is usually regarded as Christie, who made her debut in 1968. Black Barbie was launched in 1980 but still had Caucasian features.

The 20 years part is what I meant about not being inclusive. Compared to Bratz where 3/4 of the dolls were WOC from the jump

But I am not denying barbie's impact. She has a diverse skill set and 50-11 degrees :cry

Barbies voice sounds old.
Let toys be toys. Goodness.

my niece loves barbie and watches the barbie show on netflix we watch it together and tell me why they had an episode about midge the doll from the 50's she's in black and white and they're like barbies friend we met in 1950's

they had "black barbie" and christie.

got that and a dream house in the late 70's when i was like 8

my dog ate barbies head off and i turned the dreamhouse into spaceship to slide down the steps.

i obviously wasnt feeling the whole barbie thing.

they had the black barbie but didnt promote her well. she was an afterthought to the blonde chick.
