I've always enjoyed the colorful eyeshadows and very pigmented blushes of the 80's.

I will say that sometimes the foundation had people looking gray and ashy

Agreed the casket sharp foundation that proceeded the 70s was scary af. I wonder was it a change in formula or the simple fact that black women started wearing foundation. In the mid-70s- early 80s the focus seemed to be eyes and lips only. The foundation didn't seem to take place until the mid 80s.
