Im sure she is. All public speakers charge fees to speak. Idk if Mallory is a professor. But im certain she receives payment for appearances. If shes written books etcc then she gets paid for that as well.

Being a top level activist has its perks lol. Strange right?

I wonder and hope that patrisse etc speaks for free/low cost to community orgs. Im all for charging the richie riches but it would be shameful to charge a church or reading group or something a 40k fee. IMO
This!!!

Okay, Im all for the mantra Black Lives Matter and I support that and believe in it. I have all kinds of gear with the slogan. With that being said, this is not a good look at all. Buy you a nice house , fine. The bulk of that money should be helping to build communities and services around America that are in need of it the most. Helping black business. Helping children, mothers, fathers etc. I don't know if they are doing that or not. Just stating that I hope they are doing it. 3 very expensive houses in the millions? Unless she is housing people who need a place to live, I don't understand this move from afar. If they are giving money away to those that need it. Good. Keep doing it.

Yeah, she's still making money off Black death. Just because she stopped getting "officially" paid doesn't say anything about how much she got before 2019. Doesn't say anything about the ability to comp receipts through BLM. Doesn't say anything about corporate sponsorships which are probably way more than donations anyway.

Being the Black person that gets to come into a business and preach about racism is very profitable. Being a consultant brings in huge amounts of cash. Someone would probably go through YT to see any filmed speaking engagements to see just a peak at her earnings.

The thing that gets me is if BLM had just given out a 1/3 of what they took in to Black general community causes, she would have slid under the radar.

She's being bullied shamelessly by Black men.

She kinda deserves to be critiqued though, stop putting people on the streets to march whilst you live in luxury.

I don't think she could have known that it would be THIS profitable when it started,so I don't think it started as a grift but that is where we appear to be at today.

She went on TV and did her best. In a commentary about her appearance there was a quote from Booker T. Washington that seems appropriate not only for her but also for so many black or Democratic politicians who just use race to justify their power and salaries. Check this out. Over a hundred years ago they say. "Booker T. Washington predicted the likes of Cullors over 100 years ago in his 1911 book “My larger Education” when he wrote “There is a class of [black] people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the [black] race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want [blacks] to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

She secured her bag during the pandemic, too bad she had to do it off the backs of dead black men/black women

I partially agree. Truthfully, I don't see the issue with them buying up property if the money is coming from speaking engagements, books, etc.. I can just about say with certainty that it's coming from that $90+ million pot. I've never been foolish enough to give them a dime, but I feel badly for those who have, thinking they were doing the right thing. They were always very vague about what they wanted to accomplish, the chapters aren't linked, and I've really seen no tangibles, so I couldn't give my money in good faith.

I've been clocked BLM--the organization--as a fraud, so I'm not mad or surprised. She is certainly not the first person to get rid from other people's suffering, and she definitely won't be the last.

it is interesting to watch BLM evolve and the narrative surrounding it change. can't say it doesn't follow a typical pattern we've seen before. i actually went to their website a few years ago and read their mission statement. they actually claimed to be apolitical at that time.

i don't blame any of them for living their lives if the money came from books, speaking engagements and so forth, but if it came from the donation for BLM that would be illegal. i'm sure the government is on top of it already if it is illegal.

Yea I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but she didn’t sound convincing or fully honest about the criticism coming from the black left. Also he should have asked her about that electric slide foolishness.
I would watch, but I’m not interested in giving either of them clicks. :cry

Non profit doesn't mean no income, it just means no reported profits. Rolex is a great example of a non-profit that makes people rich. They generate millions in revenue, pay their people handsomely, then donate the rest to charities and other NPOs in order to still qualify as a non-profit organization.

I just wish she would have explicitly stated where the money from BLM goes..or is planning to go. She has every right to buy property, travel, and live a great life. But knowing that so many families have been affected by unjust killings and perhaps they need legal aid. OR maybe the sole bread winner was killed and the kids need college tuition...I'd just like to know that the money made is going to worthy causes/people. Is she even involved with the organization anymore ...and where are the other ladies that started with her? what are they doing..and why is patrice fully culpable?

She’s using BLM to profit and to spread her own brand. Activism is a great launching pad into other industries for these feminists.

It goes into their pockets that's why she can't tell us where it actually goes.
They've never been very forthcoming about with their mission and community initiatives.

Profitability isn’t as much the problem as what she did with it.

These people having multiple homes while Samira Rice was living in a homeless shelter should show us what type of people we're dealing with.

How dare they show up to marches and protests evoking the name of these people's dead relatives while they're HOMELESS and you're out here accepting book deals, sponsorships, and more.

The caddy/gm ad was a joke lol, pointing out how ridiculous it would look if that actually did happen. Obviously it didn't and both Malcolm X and Paul Robeson (who was a true Marxist) died with very little to their name because they were't sus and actually dedicated their lives to fighting against the forces that fed on inequality. They could have EASILY cashed out like Missy above, but they didn't.

Exactly! I always bring up Malcolm X when people try to downplay the advertisements and endorsement deals people like Tamika, Shaun King, Deray, and more get.

Malcolm didn't even own a home. His home was in the Nation of Islam's name and he lost it the minute he spoke out about the corruption of the Nation. He sacrificed his home for the truth!

These new "activists" will sacrifice their people and the movement for another TV commercial. It's pathetic.

I love Malcolm, but this is the only thing I fault him for. He had children, girls at that, and a pregnant with twins wife at the time of his death. He should've owned a home at least to give them some sort of stability, and not depended on the kindness of who turned out to be his betrayers. But even then, he was so much better as a leader than what we've been left with. That man had integrity and pride. We have no one like that today.

Tbh, I'm glad she's pissing the black community off, lol. On any other day, folks would expect black women to work for free, struggle, and live in poverty while being "of service" to others. Let this woman make her money and get her houses, lmao.

Basically, she is a Marxist only in name. I wouldn’t have an issue with what she’s doing if she hasn’t claimed to be a socialist.

People like her are anti capitalist and pro socialism while they’re poor. They don’t like their position in a capitalist system until they make it into the 1%.

I’m glad I never gave to this sham of an organisation. If you want to make real change, give to your local grassroots organisations.
Right. I been saying this. I feel the Anti-capitalist, pro-socialism, pro-Marx crew also want to see the rich get poorer in the process. I call it the Animal Farm syndrome.

kinda OT: i remember a girl i went to university with, told me her sister worked for a charity and the said charity mainly used the donations to buy all the staff new macs and lunches, never told me the name but since then i be side eyeing them all.

i’m not surprised. it’s such a shame, they could be doing some real good things for the community with all that money.
