Listen, I honestly believe Bree Runway is one of the most creative artists to come out of the UK in TIME.

She drops bops, she serves looks and she’s so beautiful, so come join the Bree Runway appreciation club.

I love her sound and still. Discovered her music from her best friend, Leomie Anderson, the model's Lappbrand page. She was talking about wearing colourful weave and clothing and how she was getting dragged online and alot of colorist insults hurled at her. So glad she is rising above the hater. She's too big for just the UK!! She will do well across Europe and the U.S. Her hometown will show her appreciation after she blows up. It's harder for black girl singers in the UK to pop unless they start working in the US. Even the biracial girl singers hit a glass ceiling unless they are white passing. Look at Corrine Bailey Rae, Lianne Lahavas, Floetry. They all had to move to/ work more in USA to be taken seriously in the UK. Even Iamddb the Angolan-British jazz-rap singer was saying that their shady in the UK music industry. There's preference for London artists eventhough there is more talent across Britain in different boroughs. Especially if you an artists who is coming from outside of London. Like from Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds its hard because they don't really like regional accents apparently. They prefer the London accent. I remember discovering Tricky & Martina Topley-bryd. He's a rapper and he pushed him self to become popular outside of the UK in the 90s. But right now is the time from UK artists especially the black girls to shine because they can build fanbases outside of the UK thank's to social media.

She'll always be Brenda to me. So happy for her success. It is wild to see her getting ( deserved) shine.

She is so brilliant and that hair style is perfect she looks so pretty!!! I keep listening to Damn Daniel non-stop! I haven's stanned an artist this hard since I discovered Azealia Banks in 2012. And she is very creative and a great writer like Azealia. I want Brenda to go very far and I believe she had the drive. I know as fans we wish she would have a bigger push but honestly sometimes it's better when you're an indie artist and have more control of your music career path. Plus building your strong fanbase is most important. But I see her being a star. There are alot of rnb/pop/nuwave eclectic black girl singers out there who are slowly building up their fanbase and putting out quality music, they just need the right combination of creativity, drive, interaction with fans, team, social media skills and maturity to push themselves. It's not easy but it's possible.

She’s indie? I could’ve sworn she was signed. Apeshit, Damn Daniel and All Night say a Virgin EMI release on Apple Music but she isn’t on the site.

Ohh you are probably right... I just assumed she was independent because the push in the UK is different from USA even if you are on a major label. That's good then her team can really help spread her music. Once quarantine ends she can tour throughout Europe and US to build her audience.

Yasss for this thread cause I been paying attention to her for a minute. She’s talented and she will do great things soon! Sadly we all know how colorist the industry is and can be towards women of a darker complexion. But her talent is definitely rare. She’s so unique!

Yeas colourist has always been a problem, however thanks to social media and the internet it definitely helps black women who want to be successful musicians so long as you find your niche audience/use what works for you.

You so right on that... Hopefully, we can see her make it cause she deserves to be bigger than she is now. Could you imagine her music, style, and star power once she gets on? She just needs the right team behind her.
