There is this youtuber I watch and her hair is GOALS. She is 3c/4a. She said her hair was professional blown out then she did a twist out. I shaved my hair recently and now just plop a wig, but my ultimate goal is to wear my natural hair 24/7.

Do you think it's possible to maintain this type of hair long term, washing and styling once a week?

I have 4b hair and can do/have done this style with blown out hair and either putting it in Bantu knots overnight or flexirods. I also wash and style weekly. So, yes.

Thank you so much for answering. Do you think you could do it for a month or so without breakage?

How do you minimize breakage with weekly washes? Do you finger detangle?

Yes. For a month, I would stretch the style to last by washing and blow drying once every 2 weeks.

I used to finger detangle but that did more damage in the long run near my roots since it’s harder to really get out the shed hair there so I only detangle on wash day using a sort of tangle teezer brush. Since there’s no daily manipulation, there’s not much breakage honestly.
