We all know Kendra for being a drop dead beauty, but whatever makeup she does, it compliments her very well

I don’t have a very good eye for detecting how much makeup someone is wearing but I can tell she’s wearing some, I see blush and mascara at least

what do you ladies think she uses? Her look is great and looks so natural

Gloss, lip liner, maybe concealer and light foundation. She doesn’t really do her eyebrows but, then again she has a nice arch and they’re pretty full.

Maybe a light bronzer on the cheek and using the same shade in the brow bone.

Obviously blush and mascara. She seems to go for a more matte look.

Everything except falsies...a li editing helps also.
But why doesn’t hers look like everyone else’s on IG? Like compared to the other girls, her stuff looks Uber natural, no drag queen feel to it

maybe she wears less of everything?

Because I know a lot of professional MUAs say that people online wear more product than necessary

In an interview she said that she uses foundation set with powder, bronzer, blush, highlighter and mascara. She also said she likes to mix foundation with moisturizer for a more natural dewy look sometimes

Im thinking something simple like this.

need to find more YouTube tutorials with this kind of energy. It’s like simple, but doesn’t feel high schoolish

im new to makeup so I’m not sure how people make simple things look so glam

this tutorial is kind of along the same lines as Kendra’s look. Also it’s a really easy to follow routine for beginners

This is how I have my makeup done everyday, but I have to fight for great skin to achieve it. Le sigh.

A full face of makeup. She has her foundation actually match her skin tone, not heavy with concealor, powder, eye liner, brow pencil, mascara, a nude lipstick and gloss, shadow, blush and contour.

But why does it look so much more natural than the other girls online?

do you think it’s cause she’s not calling it on

That's exactly what it is. Her foundation matches very well. And she doesn't appear to have much texture or severe hyperpigmentation to cover. A light layer of foundation is enough. You can always spot conceal any blemishes. And she's light handed with her application in everything. Making sure they're well blended. And she's using the same products in multiple places it looks like. She might have taken her foundation onto her eyelids then set with powder and put her bronzer in the crease. That's exactly what I do.

The right shades, a light hand, proper placement of product, and blending. That's the bulk of it.

She isn't caking it on. A lot of youtubers 'cake it on' (with filters too).

If you look at the kat von d balm foundation videos, they are caking that mess on like cement. Even in the fenty skin tint videos. They are applying the tinted moisturizer like a full coverage foundation instead of lightly like it is intended.

The concealer and powder matches her skin color instead of being multiple shades to light to 'brighten'.

The blush is very complentary of her skin and lightly applied. So is the brow pencil. Very natural and soft and perfect for everyday.

I think the key is using a light touch with well-matched buildable products. Here are some youtubers who also do looks with a light hand:

Lisa Eldridge is a professional, her shade choices will be very different, but she describes her techniques very well:

Here are a few more videos that are technique and application focused that may be helpful:

She does a heavier eye and lip look, but the base application tips still hold:

Her look is how people used to do makeup.

She isn’t using full coverage foundation, bright under eye concealing, heavy contouring, intense baking techniques, heavy clean up of the brows, etc.

Looking back at the pics, It seems like matte products are the key. it doesn’t seem like she added any dewy products or excess highlighter.

I think we need a thread called 'how not to apply foundation'. I forget that over the past 10 years or so, makeup has been full face so youngin's aren't familiar with natural looks.

I think the very young ones who are highschool age or younger are in to the whole glossier, skin-tint natural vibe. But I agree that there is a lost middle group who use the paint-by-numbers Instaglam method for all occassions and have a hard time conceptualizing how to use makeup outside of the dogmatic youtuber technique.
