yes, it’ll aways be remote
OP, it depends. Check with HR.
My job requires notice of relocation, even if the new spot is down the street. Something about a mountain of paperwork, regulations, legal stuff. They are actually warning or terminating employees who fail to notify HR in the appropriate timeframe, but that's just my job. Again, check with HR.
I don't understand. If it's permanently remote, you can work from anywhere -- even from Mars if it has Wi-FiCan you? Without Issue?
I know it wouldnt be wise to move to another state? But how about another city within the same state???
eta: the job is a permanently remote position

Technically you can and I have done it many times pre-covid . However , I only rent and keep my time under a 6 months in said state per yr. I even go outside of the US. I never had any issues , just dont change that work address leave it at the address they hired you at. Then there is no issuesLol no babe, for tax reasons (and other legal reasons) you cant just up and moved to another state and work remotely.
If I was hired in D.C. making 60k ... which is barely livable in D.C.... I can’t just go to Colombia, S.C. (Where the COL is wayyy lower) and work....... I would get fired, or they would adjust the salary
Not sure if that's correct. I'd say it depends on the employer. My co-worker left the state with no repercussions. We all worked in-office in NYC before the pandemic hit. Then we all worked remotely. Next, he moved to Texas with his six-figure NYC salary (he did this last fall). ¯\(ツ)/¯ No firing, no salary adjustment. I guess, like I said, it depends on your employer.Lol no babe, for tax reasons (and other legal reasons) you cant just up and moved to another state and work remotely.
