What TV show did you watch as a kid, re-watch as adult and your opinion changed (good or bad)?

I rewatched some episodes of Out of this World on YouTube. It was about a girl born half human/half alien with magic powers like freezing time. I remembered this would come on every weekend.

Yeah this show is awful. The acting is terrible, the tropes are typical 80s cheese, and the series ends on a cliffhanger like they were going to get another but it was canceled.

Majority of the shows I watched as a child, I can’t stand now.

I did recently watch scooby doo on zombie island, and while it was less enjoyable as an adult. I still enjoyed it mostly for nostalgic sakes.

Mama’s family.
In living color
Living single
Golden Girls
I love Lucy

That’s all I can think of for now. I know there’s plenty I’m missing.

I just found episodes of this show that I used to watch called 'The Adventures of Pete and Pete' and I didn't remember it being so funny. It was so weird and quirky.

I rewatched The Proud Family recently and it surprisingly still holds up well. The references are a litte dated and the colorism isn't it but I still enjoyed it. It's funny.
Thats so Raven was still funny as an adult. Great show
The Steve Harvey Show (the sitcom not the talk show) isn't as good as I remember.
Moesha is another one that's nostalgic but isn't as good as I was a kid
Boy Meets World is terribleee now as an adult. Corey was toxic as hell and Topanga was annoying. I can't believe I used to ship them as a kid.

Degrassi. Things I didn't fully understand then like Bipolar disorder, I get it now. I appreciate the character development of some of the most problematic characters.

There are microagression that I didn't catch as a kid as well. One of the actress says some of the writers are racist.

I just rewatched the first season of X-Men on Disney Plus, and it was like watching it for the first time:

Pretty sure this and Batman: The Animated Series are the GOAT cartoons.

I love that movie. My go to is Scooby Doo and The Witches Ghost.

I rewatched Small Wonder a while back on Antenna TV. I thought it was cheesy as a kid, think it a hot mess of bad writing and acting as an adult.

I rewatch episodes of Living Single on Bounce TV and Hulu whenever I get a chance. The show has held up quite well (not surprised). The final season is dead to me tho, lol. It's interesting how in that last few years Living Single is belatedly getting its flowers in mainstream media.

227 - I really feel like revisionist history had me thinking it was the best sitcom ever. The first two seasons maybe, but the rest of the run, no way. The last season when they added those goofy music cues when they transitioned scenes was the worst thing they could have done.

Batman: The Animated Series
Justice League Unlimited
The Misadventures of FlapJack ( also one of my childhood favorites)
Courage the Cowardly Dog

Lol I watch a lot of kid shows but those are the top ones I can think of right now

Only thing that comes to mind is Degrassi. I watched like 5 seasons around this time last year when the pandemic first started and lockdowns went into effect. I feel like that show can be enjoyed by all ages and has great underlying messages in them.

I wouldn't recommend for people to watch the Next Class version of it on Netflix though. They rushed that one.

Got high and watched Hey Arnold and Rugrats.

Hey Arnold is still amazing and funny. His grandparents are everything lol. Grandma clearly had dementia lmao.

Rugrats was creepy as hell and had me wanting to call cartoon cps.
