Old skool heaux!!!
Danessa Myricks Beauty exclusively revealed to Allure that the iconic brand is partnering up with Sephora to launch most of its products on sephora.com. The giant beauty retailer has been watching the brand's growth for quite a while, and founder Danessa Myricks says the "official courtship" lasted around a year. "From the very beginning, [Sephora has] demonstrated a deep commitment to my long-term success," Myricks adds. "They've followed my journey, knew of all my products, attended my master classes, and were actual customers of the brand."
Last year was a long-overdue time of retail reckoning spurred by Sharon Chuter's #PullUpOrShutUp challenge. In addition to sharing statistics on Black employees (especially in leadership positions), major retailers also committed to filling their shelves with more Black-owned brands and partnering with experts in the space to achieve diversity-centric goals with a conscience.
R we here for this fam???
I think this is a step in the right direction since some of her products will be also be available in store on 4/9/21. The collection will be limited to 30 of her shades/formulas and then expanded to the full 83 of every formula, shade and finish. I want DM to thrive and get her shine just as much as other BOB’s!!! I made a decision to support more BOB’s this year and I’m gonna stick to it
I’ve always been interested in DMB but since it was sold exclusively on her own website I felt it was dicey... The sites $100 free shipping minimum didn’t prompt me either LMAO!!!
I think her and products being more easily accessible will give her brand a positive boost...
Sephora also plans to incorporate “value” sizes of some of her most popular products to gain more consumer interest.
One such product will be the Vision Dream Cover foundation/concealer which comes in 29 shades with a few correctors thrown in. It is normally $28 with its Sephora value size being priced at $22.
