Cheap meaning anything less than $100.

Expensive - more than $100.

Ultra expensive - more than $500

And why?

I’ll go first, I buy both with the exception of ultra expensive. I like cheap shoes for trendy styles, or need shoes for a 1x occasion. I prefer expensive shoes though, they last much longer...in the long run I save more & they typically look higher quality than cheap shoes.

Expensive. If I’m going to invest money in shoes, I want them to last for years. So I don’t mind paying $100-300 for shoes.

i used to only buy cheap shoes but now i'm leaning towards more expensive & comfortable leather shoes that will last longer. it really doesnt make sense to buy 50/11 shoes that only last for a couple of wears before you start looking homeless

$100 is my minimum for shoes, and I don't think they get to be "good quality" until around $125 or so.

Would rather pay a bit more for shoes, that will last a few years than buy cheap ones that will wear hard on my feet.

The last daily wear ankle boots I bought were $125, and lasted 3 years.

If I had spent around $175-$240, they would have probably still fine for 2 more years.

Depends I have a pair of red bottom and they are extremely uncomfortable i would never buy from the brand again. EVER. I brought two actually but I returned the so kate's because they feel like hell. However I also have a pair of 300+ uggs which I love. I buy two pairs of uggs a year, I love them so comfortable. I also have a pair of 50 dollars platform boots I love. My feet are also very very tiny so shoes are usually cheaper for me. I wear a 4 sometimes a 3

I love a cheap flip flop. Old Navy are perfect for summer IMO.

I like Rothy's, Tieks, Frye which are midrange

Depends on the purpose. I will buy some things cheaper, like a more trendy shoe/sandal. I also will buy a cheap pair or two of knee/thigh boots periodically. This way I have them and can wear them for a more casual activity or event and not care if they happen to get messed up. Then I'll buy more expensive items, usually more in a classic style, and keep them for years. Same approach for coats, handbags, etc.

Pool slides cheap for keeping in my car for my pedicure. Expensive because I need good support bottom of my feet, ankles, knees, and back. I owned Uggs boot no support but the shoes are better. I own Christian Louboutin flats, low heel ankle booties, wedged sandals no problems at all. I do not believe in breaking in a shoe, or boot until it molds to your feet. If those b!tches hurt when I put my foot in it to try it on I cut my losses right there and walk away no matter how much I love that shoe, sneaker, boot. etc.

Expensive because I have flat feet.

But it depends. Like I wanted Vejas but then some reviews said they were uncomfortable so I bought some cheaper brand name sneakers.

Expensive. During the summer I may buy a cheap pair of sandals which may last a summer or two depending on how much I wear them.
Expensive shoes are better on my feet and last way longer. My mom still has shoes from over 10 years ago, although I believe stuff was made better back then.

I like ultra expensive shoes. However, that is not always synonymous with quality. I don’t mind spending the money, but it has to be something I feel I cannot leave the store without. I’ve seen many basura quality ultra expensive with fine craftsmanship expensive. I am grateful for the cheap as to when my budget did not allow for more. As women we can make almost anything look good if done right.

I prefer shoes that fit, comfortable, and do not make me regret them. I'm comfort all of the time.

I prefer good quality ($100-$300), but I'll buy it on sale. I live in NYC and we walk a lot. You need good quality shoes to support your feet while looking good.

To me "cheap" is about construction and materials, not necessarily price. I might buy something on sale but I don't believe in cheap shoes. I learned at an early age that when you take care of your feet they'll take care of you, and to me part of that is buying comfortable, well-made shoes.

I can’t do cheap shoes anymore. Not judging those who buy what they can afford though.

The way my feet are set up it’s best I buy quality shoes.

I can’t so the cheaply made shoes anymore. They definitely hurt my feet. And cheaply made isn’t necessarily about price. I do usually buy my quality shoes on sale.

Expensive and uber expensive. They last longer and are better made. I'm also not trendy, so it's easy to pay the $ up front and have a shoe that lasts 10+ years.

I love thrifting my clothes, so most of my budget goes to my shoes. I like to buy expensive, quality shoes. It hurts at the beginning but once I learned about the consequences of cheap, badly made shoes (bunions, corns, hammertoes, not to mention the damage on back, neck and knees) I stayed away from them.

Expensive to ultra expensive. Especially for the classic pieces.

For trendy, I can do cheap to expensive.

I used to buy nothing but super cheap shoes and when' you have to replace season after season it just doesn't make sense anymore. The goal is to shop less but have more quality pieces for myself.

The shoes I prefer and buy happen to be expensive, but I don't have much choice. cheap shoes do absolutely zero for my painfully flat feet!

Most of my shoes range from the expensive to ultra expensive range but I tend to pay more attention to material and construction of the shoes.
