Do you think it’ll be hard to get a teaching job once this is over?

What do you think? Do you think there will be more or less teaching jobs once this is over? I’ve been a stay at home mom and homeschooled my kids, but I have my degree. Any books I should read? Any other things I should do to become more appealing? I know they are desperately looking for more minority teachers.

thanks!

I recommend working with large groups of kids in a learning environment just to make sure it’s what you want. I did that and ended up changing my mind about teaching

It depends on the district, tbh. You may start out as an interventionist/para before a teacher job opens up.

What are u certified in?

Have u taught in a classroom before?

Start off with "the first 6 weeks of school" by Harry wong

Yes, I was a teacher prior to becoming a mom. I’m certified to teach k-6 but I prefer the little ones. I just have to get certified here because the state I was certified in has different requirements.

There will always be a need for teachers. Especially now that people will see that our job is somewhat "essential". I've been teaching for 10+ years and every school I've been in has always had a shortage of teachers. I've only taught in urban/Title I areas.
