My coworker said she met a guy off hinge and he said he was 31. She was showing pictures and she said something was off with him. She asked me if I noticed anything and I told her no. She said "idk maybe it's me but he looks so much older than 31" I asked her if she uses google to look up someone's age, name, adress etc.

I've done it before normally before a first date cause y'all know some of these people online are as bit nutty. I told her about a website I use sometimes and she looked up his cellphone number. Turns out that he was 39. His dob was 1981. I asked her if she's still gonna go out with him and she said "girl hell no lmao"

If I feel like someone is off I'll Google their number. I've also googled numbers where other people's names came up (most likely the phone bill is in the other person's name) tbh before coivid I never felt the need to do it but I feel like once the pandemic happened there might be alot more catfish than there was before.

Does anyone else do this?

YES! Caller Smart has been my tool of choice for YEARS I have uncovered the same things as you! Super suspect when it’s under somebody else’s name.

I got married before Googling was possible, but women should Google everything they can. I've searched real property records, tax records, arrest records, and court records for my friends' dates before. All of these things are publicly available online in many jurisdictions. Knowledge is power.

Yes! I was a little late to the game but now I’m hip to it. I use US phone book to google numbers. Most recently I met a guy who lied to me about his name and age, but it was so early on, I was easily able to cut it off.

USphonebook is the goat. It’s been very accurate on full names, family members names, ages, and addresses, imo.

Yes always! I was raised by the internet streets so I’m a sleuth. We need to be doing this as women. If her intuition is telling her something is off, most likely it is!

I use Whitepages and truepeoplesearch. If I ever find someone's who number is not under their name, huge red flag. I see it a lot out here in FL

Same. I live in another state with no family so I ALWAYS google before I actually text the person. I usually look for the name and city to match what was said or put on whatever dating site. If it doesn't I unmatch and don't text. I'm very overly cautious after having a harassment situation a few months back. I'm much more cautious and I DO NOT TRUST any man I meet online even if I don't get any gut feelings. These men out here are crazy. I never tell them my actual address for example if I have a date, illd drive to another complex and have them pick me up there. But now if a guy does ask me out I'll tell him I'll meet him at the restaurant. I've just become so cautious these last few months. When I do online date. I never keep my accounts long tbh.

Yup, I Google everything and even look them up in FamilyTreeNow.com to see where they lived/currently living... and then I have to sit at the dinner table pretending to know nothing. Meanwhile, I've already seen all the family pics and everything.

Gotta make sure you know what you're getting into.

Yes. I search until I find something. Several times, because sometimes the first few searches won’t produce anything.

I actually took it up a notch, traced some of his family members on social media and matched what they posted about him versus information he told me about himself.

Caught him dead in a lie of course.

Yes. I like to make sure he is the person he says he is. Men should do the same with anyone they meet.
