Microbraids (RIP hairline)
Anything involving glue
Crochet braids, because they tangle something awful and then the takedown is horrific.

These days I'll only tolerate box braids and maybe a u part wig

I've been using Kanakelon since the 80s & never had problems. That Expressions almost took my life. I started itching while waiting to get my hair braided. When I got home I could barely breathe, my head was pounding, heart was racing, my scalp was itching, & I was having a hard time gathering my thoughts. All I could do was lay down.

I eventually pulled myself together, filled a large container with vinegar and washed my hair in the shower. I did not dilute the vinegar. That made a big difference! All my symptoms stopped immediately & I didn't have to take it down.

I know everyone uses it, I don't. I either buy the old-school jumbo braids packs or that pre-feathered hair in the yellow pack.

Idk why but that hair broke out my neck and had me scratching like a dog with fleas..what is made from cat hair??

I got a full sew-in weave once and it was sooo tight and uncomfortable. It took months for my edges to recover and the hair I used shed really badly.

If I ever get a weave again, I will have a ton of leave out.

A curly or deep wave especially at the start of a pandemic.
This, I was wearing curly/deep wave hair for years until I jumped ship in Jan 2020 and got locs. It was the most perfect timing!! I could not imagine maintaining all that hair and the curly hair maintance was just getting to be too much. Not to mention all the hair vendors going to sh!t during the pandemic. One of the best decisions I have ever made.

The crochet passion twists I have in currently. The twists get stuck together easily and it started looking jank after two weeks. And I took down the perimeter braids to redo them and it was difficult.

I’m hurt because I like the look on everyone but, box braids with added hair. It seem like it was harsh on my scalp and I feel like I lost hair because of it. And I have long hair myself. It was just too heavy I think.

box braids, they take an eternity to put it and take out, destroyed my hair real hair, and Xpressions irritated my scalp, and it caused so much irritation to my face

Deep wave weave. Dying weave because it because it became rat ass nappy afterwards. I had to throw the weave out. No glue wigs weaves. Wigs do not look natural at all on me.

1. Vixen Sew-in.
I really thought I would be cute with this sew in. I was planning all the different styles I could try. The “Stylist” I went to did my hair in her living room while her Brother walked in and out. She braided tight and pulled the thread through the braids very tight. After the style was complete, I went in the bathroom to look at it. It looked awful. She didn’t properly blow dry my hair to match the textured hair. I wanted to run out. I gave her money and left. Come to find out, she used a cheap Kanekalon hair and it was so tangled. I tried to put it in a bun as I left her apartment complex. The hair was so wild and big, it could fit under my hoodie. Mind you it’s the middle of July and I had to take public transportation home. I felt so embarrassed. My hair looked horrible.

I took it out within a week. I went natural.
Style Seat was the worse back in the day. If your a Stylist, don’t have clients come to your apartment. Lesson Learned.

Braided updo. I have a big forehead and it did not look good on me. Plus it was soooo tight.
Box braids. Back in the 90s I got them. Last time I took them out I swore I'd never get them again and I haven't.

Glued down frontal. I’m allergic to bold hold and most wig adhesives. And it rips out your edges

I tried a slicked back bun about a year ago and I will neber do that again. Normally I keep my hair blowdried so it's relatively straight, but it frizzes like none other. I had some extra braiding hair so I wanted to do a cute slick bun for the week. I knew I would need some strong gel and a lot of it but I still wasn't prepared for how much I wound up using. Applying two different gels for maximum hold and in layers was the worst thing I'd ever experienced and wash day couldn't come fast enough. Just thinking about it now stresses me out.

For me? Most styles. No more sew-ins, box braids, Senegalese twists, Havana twists, etc. I plan on trying a hair hat wig just to see if I'd like it, but I foresee myself adding it to the list afterwards lol

I refuse to get a relaxer again. Not once have I had a relaxer without some damage. The first time it looked cute but then my mom put me in braids and then my hair broke off.

In my teens, when I got a relaxer because I had a cute short cut, the skin around my ears got burned from the chemicals. Nasty!

Relaxers.
The last stylist who gave me one...ugh...IDK what she did but I went completely BALD on my edges. SMH That was roughly two years ago.

Been working to grow my edges back and they've come back but it still looks very sparse.
