Harvey Weinstein allegedly tried to force an up-and-coming actress to perform xesual acts on him by telling her that actresses Charlize Theron and Renée Zellweger paid their dues and ended up stars.
The claims were made in a new class-action lawsuit filed on behalf of six named plaintiffs who allegedly suffered xesual assault and other acts by Weinstein. The suit also alleges the producer and The Weinstein Company were engaged in racketeering.
One of the women, Melissa Sagemiller, claims she met with Weinstein in 2000 at his hotel room while filming the movie “Get Over It.” She says he asked for a massage and a kiss, and when she refused, he told her about “xesual favors” given by Zellweger and Theron, saying, “Don’t you want your career to be more than just this little teen film?”
Sagemiller says she eventually gave into the kiss, but nothing more.
Charlize Theron spoke out after the Weinstein allegations began, claiming she “didn’t have a personal experience like this” with the producer, but was not surprised.
Zellweger, who worked with Miramax on all three of her “Bridget Jones” movies, has not commented on the Weinstein scandal.
