Black Men Unite: Hollywood Actors Shoot Dedication Video For Trayvon Martin
ICON MANN Black Men in Entertainment and Multimedia hosted its summer luncheon just hours before the jury announced the not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.
At the conclusion of the luncheon, the who’s who list of African American actors and industry executives in attendance learned about the verdict, which put a damper on an empowering day of enlightenment and networking.
Actor Omari Hardwick, who recently starred in the BET film “Being Mary Jane,” was motivated to pen a poem in honor of Trayvon Martin called “Little Boy Wonder” the night of the verdict.
“My belief in us, as the human race, sharing the same planet, motivated me too create LITTLE BOY WONDER a Dedication to Trayvon Martin,” Hardwick said, in a statement to AlwaysAList.com.
The poem then sparked the idea for a dedication video called, LITTLE BOY WONDER: A Dedication to Trayvon Martin that included Harwick and some of his high-profile friends.
