I'll start with mine. They depict Somalia with Guns, pirates, and total anarchy lol. They also make it a point to use non-somali actors/actresses 95% of the time.

They depict them as stupid/clowns or criminals.
Tbh Hollywood presents everybody who’s not white like that a lot of Muslims are presented as terrorists or oppressed. The Aladdin remake got criticised for orientalism because it was mostly Indian/Bollywood culture they were passing off as Arab because real Arab culture is too “modest/uninteresting” for them probably. I also remember people were mad as hell at Disney’s Princess and the frog because they had to add slave/racist undertones to the movie because that’s all they can associate black people with.

They depict with samba, (which they often confuse with salsa) Rio de Janeiro, crime, favelas, beaches, semi naked girls and Pelé.

They depict people of my shared heritage and culture any which way they want and that's the problem because proganda is a potent drug and most Americans tend to absorb most of thier perceptions about others through the wide and varying distributive vehicles and platforms of the mass entertainment system.

We are not in control of our own voice and image and that is a huge problem.

People are more willing to believe what they see on a flickering screen or hear on the radio than putting on their bifocals of reality and hearing aid of truth to see and understand that what they think might not be an accurate portrayal or a reflection of a whole people and that just because people share a common race or ethnicity does not mean they aren't uniquely their own people with thier own thoughts, ideas, views, lifestyle, xesual preference, political affiliations, ect.

I'm Canadian so they depict us as nice but simple people who say "about" as "aboot" and say "eh" at the end of every sentence.

My background is jamaican so they depict us as weed smoking cool, relaxed people with terrible accents.

We always get the full African American female characters. It’s because America isn’t ready to see interracial couples and biracial people as the mainstream.

I don't watch too many movies, but I generally hate how they portray Black people, including African Americans. Hollywood has exported their awful views and stereotypes on African Americans globally and I say this as a Diaspora Black woman who lives in the US.

Based on where I have lived and from:
1. England-they're always classy, intelligent, and can do no wrong. Um no, they're raggedy as hell and very racist just like their white American counterparts. Don't let these British movies and accent fool you. Hollywood and America has a very quaint view of England.
2. France-so liberal , sexy, open-minded and multi-cultural. City of love and brotherhood. High fashion and amazing food. They're raggedy, racist and more conservative than one would think-more of this. They have some great movies like "La Haine" and others that show how France has serious racial issues and issues in general. It's not all love under the Eiffel Tower
3.Nigeria-We're all scammers, Boko Haram, ignorant, always doing juju (Nollywood has to catch blame for this too) always fighting ethnic wars, all poor, live in slums, but know how to turn up for a wedding. There's more to Nigeria than that-the ethnic issues, particulalry among the majority, are very much Western/colonial holdovers. Nigeria has a host of issues/wahala, but the creativity, turn up, innovation is also very real.Oddly, despite the corruption and not providing for their own citizens, Nigeria does like to help other African countries and is largely PanAfrican in theory, which the French absolutely hate as they want full control of West Africa.
4. Sierra Leone-Very disappointing. Always about our awful civil war and we are always stupid and slow in movies and need handouts from whitey-see Blood Diamond which I couldn't finish watching. Sierra Leone still suffers from the effects of the civil war, yes, but the people are vibrant, kind, and resilient. Also, a number of freed slaves were taken to Freetown, SL, so there's a huge area that should be explored in film and Nigeria has primarily made Sierra Leone their 37th state and helped them a lot during the war.
5. Senegal-Docile, always glad to suffer. One of the biggest independence leaders, Senghor, was Senegalese. Very intelligent and proud people
7. Sweden-LOL. They're all blonde, good-looking, socialists, just want to drink, have fun, are all organic, never sick and always happy. They're not all good-looking, they're not all blonde, and they can be raggedy as all hell and have weirdos (like their epidemiologist who failed them), and they're social democrats....they're not actually full on socialists, they just have sensible rules that create a great safety net, while allowing them to make money.
8. Switzerland-Exactly like the Sound of Music-LMAO and neutral. Switzerland is where all the criminal leders hide their ill-gotten gains, they're a little corporationist nation, and are pretty close-minded. It's also pretty divided between the German and Swiss sides, with the Italian portion fighting to be remembered.
9. America-Well, land of the free, home of the brave. It will make your home nation look like crap and you can come and rest and get the American dream. LIES

Interesting, I am more into the substance of the story, or the real historical of events especially covering the Mahdist conflict in Sudan. It is arabianish, but then again Sudan especially the Northern region is a desert country compose of many groups. The casting issue, I don't have any problem with, but it is a problem if that make sense. However I would like them to display the actual characters, rather some weird love story, with its twist and turns, and focused on real again historical characters and actual events of the period rather than imaginative characters that did not exist. Because the historical characters will actual make the movies during that period far more entertaining rather than create something "base" on actual events.

The move is called "The four feathers", there are many versions of this film, but most of them revolved around some weird love story or the glorification of the British conquest or their fight against Islam

In this film South Sudanese model (Alec Wek)played a minor role as some tribal, and Djimon Hounsou played the supporting role in the film again as some tribal person

The only time Ghana really gets acknowledged is by mixing the country with Nigeria. That's all I can think of.

I'm Black American woman: hollywood w portrays Black women as aunties/grannys, slaves and single mothers, churchy. "Black" women under 30 are portrayed by biracials.
Men seem to have more diverse rolls. Not all Drugs dealers/ thugs but still a lot of that.

Jamaicas always cast by non Jamaican with terrible Jamaican accents . Jamaicans always dressed from head to toe in red green and yellow and smoke "ganja".

Edit for grammar

Omg this. Jamaicans don't have a one size fits all accent. It changes depending on where you're from like town or country. Black Americans across America don't sound the same, so I don't understand why they cast non Jamaicans or people with no proximity to being Jamaican who more than likely had a white dialect coach. You can hear their ass struggling too, like Taye Diggs in How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

I havent watched mainstream Hollywood movies for years so I dont know whats happening with the representation. I assume we are seen as perpetual famine victims or arent represented at all.

Canadian/Quebecois: Too nice, always ending sentences with 'eh', all white (apparently Indigenous Canadians and Black Canadians don't exist), all men are too soft, all men are gay (hence the term Queerbecers) , everyone is liberal, refined (except if you are Quebecois: their French is raggedy and hates all English-speaking folks)

Haitian: all are Voodoo practitioners, all are fervent Christians, all of them are Black, all of them are dumb illiterates, all men are having multiple children with multiple women, all women would do everything for some change
