So I want to start learning how to put on false eyelashes because even though my natural eyelashes are a good length, I feel like my makeup isn't fully complete. I also think that lashes (when done right) look good in photos. So I bought a bunch of falsies. I tried to use these ones (they are beautiful!):

but it was a MESS. I spent almost an hour trying to put them on correctly but they weren't sticking right. they were almost there but then the ends would f***ing unstick! I had to re-do my whole eye makeup because I got so much glue on my eyelashes. Sigh.

Can I have some tips please? I always see videos of other women just plopping them on in 2 seconds... WTF... HOW??? TEACH ME PLEASE?

How long did you allow for the glue to dry? You need to wait for it to get tacky before you apply the lashes

Also make sure you measure the lash so it's an approximate length for your eyes. Not every lash will fit you exactly.

I use Cardani lash glue. It's sold on Amazon. It gets tacky within about 30 seconds and then I apply them, starting from the outer corner of my eye to the inner.

This video helps

Trim the band to accommodate your eye size if your eyes are smaller,

make sure you apply enough glue to the band and add a little extra glue to the corners because they are the weakest spots

Wait 20-30 seconds before applying the lashes so that the glue will get tacky and stick easier.

Start from the inner corner to the outer corner.

Practice makes perfect OP!

yes to all of this!!!

& practice definitely makes perfect, few years ago I put on lashes everyday because I was tired of taking forever to get them on when I would go out... mastered it and now I put them on in 2 seconds and everyone always thinks they're lash extensions!

(I use a tweezer and its easier for me that way but some people think its harder so see what works for you!)

edit-

also, put them up not down if you know what I mean, so they open your eyes

and once on your lid and its dried a little I like to use my tweezer/fingers to gently press the lash strip onto my lash line to keep them secure

This makeup artist in my area taught me to put eyelash glue above your lash line and put the eyelash on that way

A tiny strip of weave glue and with my fingers. I straighten my real lashes with an eyelash curler first. Turn it upside down. (“you’re gonna go blind!” “You shouldn’t do that!” Yadadada not tryna hear it)

Practice practice practice. Buy some cheap lashes in bulk and whenever you have some free time practice putting them on. That's what I did. You also need to figure out your eye shape too. If you want, you can use tweezers (I personally prefer to not use them). The easiest way to put them on is to place the lash is to put the middle of the lash strip in the center of your eye, then pull the outer and inner corners down along your lash line. Once all the edges are in place, use your fingers to pinch your natural lashes and false lashes together so they’re blended. The glue you use can make all the difference. I use this one. It's dries very quickly and it's hold is amazing. It's bomb.

I’ve never been able to do strip lashes. Got Lashify and got it right in the first try, never looked back.

I've found that putting on mascara first helps me. Then I use a hand held mirror angled in a way that I can see myself looking down

This is why I want to try the magnetic lashes. I could never master the traditional lashes, nor do I have the patience.

thank you. I think I need to wait for the glue to get tacky. I make sure to trim them because they are definitely too long for me.

so its like magnetic lashes? you know what, maybe I'll just get eyelash extensions because I can't. LOL

hmm i'll try this as well. I haven't used an angled mirror yet.

I wear lashes a lot.

Make sure you cut them to your eyeshape length.

Practice. I use just my hands put my lashes on and not an applicator. Hair glue is my go to.

They use glue, but their system is practically dummy-proof haha
And their lashes are clusters, rather than a full strip

It’s weird I can put on individual lashes damn near perfectly but I have never mastered strip lashes. That’s why I want to try the magnetic lashes

Excellent tips. Don't give up OP. I recall the days of getting frustrated when putting lashes on. I even threw the tweezers across the room. Now i am good at putting them on. I also apply a coat or 2 of mascara before putting my lashes on. :)

Make sure to use this glue from DUO:

MRL8124.jpg

The reason is for this particular one is that when you brush it on, it shows white and then wait 30 seconds and it turns blue aka it's tacky.

Then you use a mirror/compact and look down in it, but hold the mirror out about 10 inches from your face and hold it right where your nose is and tilt your head upards. This allows you to see where to place the lashes on your lash line.

Tack the middle on first, then the outer corner, and then inner corner.

I struggle with putting on lashes too, I tried last night and just gave up lol. I've been sticking with getting lash extensions but those tend to pull my lashes out when they fall off.

I cut my strip lashes into 4-5 pieces and apply them individually to my lash. It allows me to get that "lash extension" look without paying for it.. and it's easily removable!
