I go to sleep easily around 10 to 11pm

Sleep for a few hours

Wake up around 2.30 am

Fall back to asleep around 3 45 am

Wake up around 7

I do this every night

Since this year began I always wake up in the middle of the night

Before I would sleep all through

That’s just your brain getting your body ready to get up in the middle of the night, every night, to pee

Welcome to middle age! :cry

If you drink, a glass of wine. And if you really want to be knocked out shiraz or proseco. You can make a Bellini.

These are the things that helped me:

No blue light after sundown. Either use a blue light filter like fluxx on your computer and phone. Or get blue light filtering glasses so you can watch tv etc.

In the middle of the night when you wake up, no phone or anything with a screen.

No caffeine or alcohol in the evening. No evening snacking or late dinner.

Keeping my bedroom cold, dark and quiet. I don't do anything in my bed that isn't sleeping or xes. So no phone, tv, discussions, laptop, planning, LSA...

it's actually not all that abnormal to sleep in broken up phases like that. some say it's even the most natural way of sleeping, and that the "normal" 8-hour-ish sleeping pattern is a result of industrialization forcing us to be awake during certain hours, and artificial lighting messing with our circadian rhythms.

if it's causing you a great deal of stress or impacting your day to day life, you can practice sleep hygiene and see a sleep specialist. but there's nothing inherently wrong with sleeping as you are, provided you're getting enough quality sleep to function during the day.
