I don't disagree about a person posting what they want on their profile... it is their profile after allPeople always say this like it’s some type of hot take. You’re allowed to post all the pictures of yourself that you want on your personal Instagram account. You’re not the Instagram police and you’re not a psychology or psychiatrist. You don’t get to decide how many selfie’s other women post and you have the option to unfollow whoever you don’t want to see photos of.
it’s like some of you think you’re being forced to follow people and it’s weird.
I don't disagree about a person posting what they want on their profile... it is their profile after all
Defensive much?

You're giving me hit dog holler teas. You asked for thoughts and opinions and so you got one.
you’re not in the medical field to be trying to say people are narcs for posting photos of themselves on their social media.
Don’t ask for opinions if you don’t really want em.
You're giving me hit dog holler teas.
I didn't say there was something wrong with someone who posts pictures of themselves here and there... but if I check someone's profile and I see nothing but their face and not much of a caption to offer other than "look at me I'm cute", that leads me to think what I think.
I don't have to be in the medical field to offer what is my assessment, just like you don't get to decide how someone reacts to or assesses something.
Agreed...they look like broke bums with too much time on their hands. This might be unpopular but I do find men into social media a turn off I actually prefer dudes who aren't too into social media or keep it low-key like those dudes that only post memes
so women can have a page full of pictures of themselves but it's weird if men do?I feel it makes them look vain and effeminate. I can't be into any man who thinks they are finer and prettier than me.
The bolded is what I'm talking about hereMost people’s IGs consist of pictures of themselves, so I don’t agree with this. Now I do agree that people who consistently post pictures of just themselves are insecure or narcissistic (you know the type, they have to post at least 3 pictures of themselves weekly. There’s is no way possible that you need that much validation, definitely a red flag)
I have pics of concerts, sporting events, nature, trips, restaurants. Things I have done, etc.Or maybe they just aren't insecure and actually like the way they look Lmao! The number one sign of a weirdo with no life is a social media page with hardly any pictures of themselves.
I’m baffled by how this article and the study say nothing about women. Let’s include this thread topic too. This study came out 6 years ago so you might be on to something.Men Who Share Selfies Online Show More Signs of Psychopathy, Study Says
Also signs of narcissism and self-objectificationtime.com
Thank you!Love the double standards, but what about women who post pictures of themselves? Are they not vain? They aren't narcissists, too?
Ridiculous.
We all know alot of those "social sciences" studies are BS anyway.
And I'm pretty sure you are in most of them. I was responding to a person saying it's odd to have pictures of yourself but not a page full of nothing but memes.I have pics of concerts, sporting events, nature, trips, restaurants. Things I have done, etc.
I hate having my picture taken.
Does that make me a weirdo?
It’s a rhetorical question
I’m in none of the pictures. I don’t do selfiesAnd I'm pretty sure you are in most of them. I was responding to a person saying it's odd to have pictures of yourself but not a page full of nothing but memes.
Ok girl. If that's how you choose to operate your socials that's you. I told you what type of pages I was referring to in my last post. Not what you are describing.I’m in none of the pictures. I don’t do selfies
You won’t find my face on Instagram maybe Facebook but it wasn’t me taking the photo and I didn’t post it
I’m baffled by how this article and the study say nothing about women. Let’s include this thread topic too.
Most dark triad research only talk about men…now that’s weird
Thank you!
I personally feel, irregardless of gender, that documenting every second of your life isn't healthy.
