What does that have to do with this thread.

It has everything to do with this thread. Dogs are expensive and so are babies which is why some people choose pet ownership first. There are lots of dogs (and cats) looking for a home and lots of shelters provide you with tools that will make it cost effective and more affordable. I adopted my cat and it was a breeze.

Maybe you should just take the advice and stop being so damn defensive Peach.

*I'm feeling generous today so will dish out groans for a groan. thank you :)

If you can't afford it, don't adopt or buy. Leave the dog where it is at. One thing that annoys me is when people get dogs and then a year later they give them away because they are unable to care for them. Dogs have feelings too and they become attached to folks. Leave the pup where they're at.

Not only are they expensive but they take a lot of work. Especially a puppy, I bought my dog (miniature dachshund) at 2 months & he’s basically my child. The vet, vaccinations, constant food/treats, toys, potty training, walks, playtime, & constant need for attention & affection requires much patience. Especially his specific breed I constantly have to make sure he’s not straining his long ass back & legs.

My pets are deceased. I wanted a yorkie puppy but I guess I'll start saving for one. I miss my dogs so much.

Find a wealthy boyfriend, adopt a dog behind his back, and send him a text saying, "It's yours.". Secure the (poop) bag. Put him on puppy support.

lol then don't get one. nobody's forcing you. having a dog is like having a baby that never grows older than a toddler
Yes, having a dog or cat is like having a 2 year old for life! No no no no eat don't touch that then sleep all day every day lol.

Dogs are generally expensive. If you can't afford to take of one, then you are better off. Save your money.
that's not helpful. alot of people can really use the companionship.

breeders have regular breeds online at $3,000+. even if you can afford their care and upkeep, it's almost impossible to afford them. and the wait times are crazy. it's frustrating

To everyone saying adopt, shelters really only have Pitbulls now a days. Puppies are given to rescues and sometimes they have the craziest standards.

It's crazy. If you go to the ASPCA or shelters, they only have mixed pits. the dog rescue places say you aren't qualified without a backyard. we couldn't even "qualify" for a cat because they won't send them to single cat households lmao

it's rough out there ...

It really is, to think back them you could go to any animal shelter and walk in and find 20 different breeds and take home one you wanted. Now everyone wants to only adopt to people who are 30 and up, fenced in backyard, have at least three references, a home inspection, and you have to tell them if you’re moving and where. sh!t is exhausting.

Every rescue and shelter I have looked at have so many standards, it’s crazy. People complain and look down on you for getting a puppy from a breeder but won’t say anything when the rescue groups have 2 pages worth of qualifications.
