Grambling? Really? Let that child go to UVA... None of the schools listed can hold a candle to UVA and of she wants to go to medical school she needs the best education she can get. Some of y'all have lost y'all minds with the blind loyalty to HBCU's and I write this as a Xavier Grad!Ok so if you want the Hbcu experience, go to a state hbcu: NC A&T, Norfolk, Morgan, Jackson, Grambling, Tennesse State, FAMU and major in biology which most do from there most of my peers ended up at Meharry Medical College
or go to a pwi and then attend a hbcu medical school
Or reach out to the spelman alumni favsbook page in your city: Spelman LA Alumni Chapter and ask if they have scholarships etc. in most cases, they do.
HOPE is for public schools. Spelman is private. Also, it pays tuition and gives a small book stipend.I'm assuming you're based in Georgia. Aren't you eligible for the Pell grant, HOPE scholarship or Zell Miller? There's also Georgia Tuition credit
ETA: but like other fonts said, you UVA may be your best bet because you get a full ride and they have a good med program.
so did you enjoy your experience?Yes with 22k in student loans in my name and the rest in a parent plus loan. OP don't do it, its not worth it girl. My mom tried to warn me but I didn't want to listen because we had a horrible relationship. Spelman tuition and fees are around 45k a year, not worth it in my opinion and the freshman dorms are horrible unless you live in the Suites or the Honors dorms.
Not true. HOPE is for private Georgia colleges and universities too.HOPE is for public schools. Spelman is private. Also, it pays tuition and gives a small book stipend.
