The articles that link fibroids and breast cancer to relaxers are pretty much inconclusive. The article states there are numerous things causing breast cancer and it cannot be conclusively determined that it is caused by relaxers. It is probably caused by a lot of things interacting (hormones, genetics, etc.). The article also mentions hair dye.
Shake the table!! Like I said chemicals is chemicals...any potential links to relaxers and malignancies like cancers can also be "potentially" linked to dyes. Don't believe me, do your googles. I'm just saying, people seem to lose all that energy when the conversation of health risks switches from relaxer to hair dye.

I agree with the previous post that some return to relaxers after they find they don't have type 3 curls or they don't have fast hair growth/length retention. For some of these booty influencers, being natural is a whole ass flex. For some others, I think they just got bored with natural hair. I mean, unless you can get creative with twisted, poofed/bouffant or braided updos, wash-and-go and/or braid/twist outs that just sit there and one big pineapple poof can get hella boring. Sadly, a LOT of naturals are pretty basic with styling.

She was throwing it out like when I eventually do go natural, It could be 2 months, it could be in a week.
Yeah that told me she's going natural for sure, I feel like that's what she did last time she went natural as well, testing the waters with her viewers lol
I feel bad for the setback she had due to the ORS relaxer. I sympathies because I am currently babying my hair with Ayurvedic treatments from a recent setback.

Why don't these "going back to relaxer" youtubers just "heat-train" their hair. Not as drastic, still can retain some curls and SSKs decrease by a lot.

Also you don't get leeching of corrosive chemicals into your scalp and fµck!ng up your brain.

It's just another attention grab for natural hair youtubers that aren't making it big, not realizing that they will now get less views now that they are relaxed.

I'm telling you heat training is NOT hard at all it doesn't matter what texture you are. You can use 400 degrees every two weeks with a silk press and wrap and maintain it and your hair will be heat trained in about 2 months...

Havent really watched since Megz went back to relaxers, but is it just me or does her hair look quite thin? I feel like it was a lot thicker when she started her youtube career.

I said that in another thread and another font said it isn't. It sure is thin and even she acknowledged that so she's been using castor oil .

Her relaxed (or natural) hair will thrive if she gets it professionally done - regularly, not once a year. I’m not sure why she doesn’t just do that and get regular trims. She can afford it.
My hair is the opposite. It doesn't thrive when I get it professionally done...(every 3 weeks). I think because they use too much heat. My hair grows like wild weeds when I am the only
one messing with it. I'm lazy. I like water based leave in spray. That's it. I don't put creams and butters and oils anymore. I wash, deep condition with steamer and air dry into a low, sleek bun (I'm relaxed now, and this is my routine). I can't have my life revolve around a 20 step hair care routine anymore. It's so DREADFUL.

Which leave in conditioner do you use?

I swear by the Elasta QP leave in spray for all over my head.
Then for my ends (all of the hair hanging down in my pony tail I use It's A 10).

The Elasta QP is affordable. But that it's a 10 is expensive, it's not really "liquidy" is why I don't put it all over my whole head.

I don't like a lot of product in my hair.

I use very little Mielle Rosemary Mint edge gel for my edges. Relax hair every 4 months.

I have very thick, coarse hair...probably the coarsest on the list.

I love the haircut! I didn't think her hair looked bad before. Aside from needing a trim (which we all need regular, that's not a dig), it looked good. She's just obsessed with her hair being all one length and having blunt ends. So this is what works for her.

I don't buy that she'll keep her bob. I think she may for a while, but I think the goal is to grow her hair out and have it be all one length as it gets longer.

This is the look that I’ve wanted her to try for so long. Her hair is so low density that having it all one length makes it look so much fuller.
Right, her hair looks fuller with this cut. I know she wants long, thick hair but perhaps that isn’t realistic for her?

Well, she's never going to have thick hair and she can't change that. She knows her hair is fine. But I think she's still itching for length (I could be wrong) but she really likes to have even hair so I think if she can have even, blunt ends and length, she'll go for it.

I like Megs, I think she’s cute. But she has to come to terms with what her hair is capable of. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her jumping back and forth and playing around but she seems to like a longer thicker straight look. She can stay relaxed, continue to take excellent care of her hair and throw some clip ins in for thickness because it ain’t happening girl.

She’s trying to achieve a 150% density kinky straight wig straightened if that makes sense

Meg you don’t have the genes for that and that is ok! Relaxed, natural, texlax, gina curl whatever it’s not going to happen

You can’t change your hair density

Well, she posted about how much she's enjoying her haircut in a new sponsored post. This cut does give her hair some weight.

I am glad she cut that weak-looking hair off. Long hair doesn't necessarily mean healthy. It was thin. This cut gives the illusion of being thicker.

She wants help deciding to keep the bob or grow it out.

I think she should keep it. She's done the long relaxed hair thing already. It seems the bob is healthier for her relaxed hair but I bet she'll grow it out before the year is over.

I don’t blame her but why not just get texture releases or silk presses?
Texture release? What's that?

I've been natural for a decade, and I'm sick of it. Now that my hair is so damn long, the SSKs are out of control and I HATE doing my hair. It stays in a bun. I'm trying to figure out a way to "relax" my hair without relaxing. I actually do like my curls and the versatility, but manageability is lacking so I'm always curly anyways.

She has really been able to milk this utube thing, because her hair just aint it. I mean you can go months without watching her, check back in, and her hair is looking the same. She just be yapping on about that hair that don't be looking like nothing; kinda reminds me of Destiny in that aspect.

You know I never looked at it that way but now that you mention it, I see what you're saying. Her hair is just meh. Not spectacular. Her new hair is fire though. I love the bob style on her.

The bob is cute and that's where she should keep it. Any length past that is like you said. ..meh. All those products and treatments do nothing for her.

I dont keep up with this youtuber, but i do get reccomended her videos from time to time…

but her hair looks better shorter, her hair is so thin, that it doesnt look as good the longer it gets…

lol idk how old she is, but between her looks and her voice (she looks very petite, and young in the face, and her voice sounds really young - its not giving grown woman lol)… but between all that, i think shorter hair suits her better, it just looks more “fun” and “youthful” like she herself looks
