The UCONN team with Sue Bird and Diana T. and the squad with Maya Moore I could see winning but this team this year nah I don’t see them winning much and this is coming from a UConn fan.

I agree with this.

The UCONN women have had far more physical, talented and athletic teams in the past that would’ve been nice to debate this. And I’ve seen it suggested in the past.

This current squad is talented, but it pales in comparison to past teams with Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore, Sue Bird, Barbara Turner, Renee Montgomery, Tina Charles etc. Plus the old BIG East was far more competitive as well.

Not to say the current line up is bad, but they wouldn’t do well.

Are y’all on the boneyard? They post this thread all the time.

Whew!! UCONN from back in the day was GOAT! I miss that old school Big East ball. It’s not the same anymore.

I hated when they shook the conferences up how ever many years ago that was. UCONN staying in the Big East helps with football I think, but not with basketball. There is no competition for the women in conference and we don’t get the classic men match ups either.

Years ago, when I was heavy into college recruiting. I haven’t been on in so long. I just took a look after the game tonight. The activity has gone down, but the discussion still looks interesting.

I got your question. This is not a good team to debate that to. There is no reason to think this team could dominant at all levels.

Not only does this UCONN women’s team play inferior conference opponents every week compared to past teams, but past players have been far more talented/athletic then this current squad.
