I never watched past the first season when it aired in real time (not because I didn't like it but I was too lazy to keep up with the show). It's currently streaming on Hulu and I'm in the mood to watch a drama that's engrossing and keeps you hooked. Is it good? Worth watching all 6 seasons? If not what other dramas would you suggest? Something dark and addictive.

It would have been a GREAT show but things moved way too fast for a lot of people. Too many characters. And the storyline had so many twists & turns it was very hard to stay on track.

I gave up after the 3rd season.

I felt the same way about "Scandal" ...
I hate that LOUD music and fast moving format.

I never got around to watching the last season (I swear I will eventually), but it is a wild show. A lot of WTFs (good and bad). For me as a viewer, it was like playing a detective trying to figure out what happened as they give you confusing clues, plot twists and mis-directions. I did want to throat punch a lot of characters at different times, and went back and forth with who I hated and who I didn't. It had have some issues, but lets be real, almost every show does...

ETA: I agree that the first 3 seasons were great, especially the first 2. The first 2 were...

If have Amazon Prime, I would also recommended Orphan Black starring Tatiana Maslany. It's very underrated Canadian show but Tatiana eventually did win an Emmy for Best Actress for the show (against Viola Davis for HTGAWM at that, although Viola beat her the first time, but it should tell you how talented the actress is). With that said, I can't really tell you what the show is about because it technically a spoiler lol. Normally, I just send them the opening scene of the series and have them decide whether their interested in it or not...

I loved it. If you're looking for a realistic legal drama, this isn't it. It's more like a soap opera. Lots of characters and crazy storylines. I was satisfied with the ending which I can't say for a lot of shows.

Also, I second watching Orphan Black. Tatiana is a great actress.

YES! Orphan Black!!!

And I agree, the first three seasons of HTGAWM were good but got super wack afterwards.

Be forewarned, OP: the show takes a turn in mid(?) season 3 that turned a lot of us off (I know that I didn't have the desire to tune in every Thursday after that season ended).

Yikes that's not good. I hated Scandal by the end. The last 3 seasons were horrible. The B613 storyline got on my last nerve.

The first two seasons were great. The third one was good, but not as great as the first two. After Season 3, the show fell off in terms of quality IMO. But I watched until the end out of loyalty.

The first season all the way until mid season three was good. From there, it falls off a damn cliff.

I liked it. But, you have to pay attention bc there is a lot of flashing back and forth.

Yeah, I'd say it's definitely worth a watch. I began watching it when it debuted back in 2014, and even though I started feeling like it was falling off during season three, I still saw it through to the end. I pretty much kept with it only because I love Viola Davis. She basically carried the whole show on her back, tbh.

Orphan Black is legit one of my top five shows of all time. I also agree with you that it's extremely, criminally underrated. Ever since it ended over three years ago, I try and make sure to rewatch it at least once every year. The first season alone is, imo, one of the best seasons ever aired on TV. I miss it so much.

I'm putting the rest of my post in a spoiler, because I don't want to reveal anything about the plot to anyone who hasn't seen it before.

Tatiana Maslany is such a remarkable and captivating actress. I just absolutely love her. She did such an amazing job acting as all those clones to the point where you started to forget that they were all played by the same person, lol. She made them all actually feel like different people with different personalities, quirks and motivations. (Cosima was my bae and my favorite out of all of them.)

I can't wait to see her as She-Hulk, because I know she's gonna kill it.

I think the first 3 seasons are worth watching and maybe the last 2 episodes of the final season.
Without spoiling anything I would agree with this. I might even add a few from the 5th, and the crossover with Scandal from the 4th.

I would say if you decide to watch just know that it peaked in season 1. Viola is a beast throughout though. My personal favorite is the 1st half of season 2 (first 9 episodes).

Almost forgot about the Scandal crossover. I loved it with Annaliese read Olivia for being a spoiled little brat.

I would say this. -To enjoy the show you should never allow yourself to take it and the characters too seriously which is tricky because the show tends to take itself way more seriously than it should.

I think its definitely worth watching at least the first season. Viola gives a great performance throughout. There are a few twists and turns that make you want to keep watching the next episode. It did tank a bit around Season 3 but I think I was just invested in it (and it was my end of week treat) that I kept tuning in to see what would happen.

As someone said earlier it definitely is more about the drama in the lives of the characters than actually being about 'law' but the cast overall was great you will def love/hate a few of them.

I’m rewatching from the beginning. Everyone—except Frank and Bonnie—deserves their deaths. Wes’ death was premature; however, he was annoying. I would have been fine with his death at end of season 4 or 5, which would eliminate the Laurel show. Connor was a punk; happily, he was redeemed yet he should have been Wes’ death instead.

Also it started to fall off when there were less court scenes. The intermix of their drama and court scenes gave a good balance.

Season 2 is my favorite season. The running case with the adoptive parents were a good one. I wish they continued that into the later seasons with a major case and little ones off.

I watched when it originally aired, but never made it after episode 4. Meh

I even tried rewatching it a few months ago, and I just couldn't deal with all the characters.

Give it a try OP, you might like it.
