The funny thing is I’ve seen nonblack youth dress like Black people in the early 2000s. While the Black youth would dress more up to date. It’s an actual thing I saw at my job in real time, and online.
I can believe it. For some, it's a caricature that they can dress up as. Others, I don't know what they are on but do you boo.

Girl where you been this is how NBA players are dressing nowadays (Using them as an example since they usually follow trends of other Black people)

Now, ma'am why did you have to use these pictures. Now, I have to derail this thread to figure out who these men are and if they have existing DRs.

Edit: Hey Trevor! I see you bringing the heat, love.

Edit: Nvm. Him without the mask is a different story. But the ones above him still hit.

Lol, this is almost as bad as the other generalizations made in this thread. There are definitely rich white people who show the hell off (cars, clothes, schools, houses, etc.) White people in general definitely fall prey to the Living like Joneses. Look at youtube and see what the most popular youtubers or videos consist of.
Yeh. I just think culturally, white people and Black people could dress very different. So people just assume white people are dressing like bums as a rich person, and not trying. When really that was the look they were going for.

i don’t see white people showing off in the Bay Area. Real Wealthy white people aren’t showing off on Social media. Maybe cuz the Bay Area is the hippie generation so they don’t believe in money although they have a lot of it

Some people on LSA really believe that all white people are health nuts that do yoga and go to the gym everyday. A lot of white people eat fast food all time and barbecue every other day. They eat unhealthy, just like the rest of us. And these are even the wealthy white people down south that have more options.
I work amongst poor wp. So many are out of shape, wp gain weight on thier rump most it gets really wide, I have four obese ww in my workplace that have the exact same bodies wide load butts. The skinny ones all do drugs and look weird. Health nuts, I don't know any amongst poor whites.

Correct.

Edit: Generalizing. Old wealthy are definitely not stepping out most of the time in white tees, or the basics. If anything their basics probably cost as well. The 'new money' but 70s to early 2000s are just trying to keep their money so yeah they're not stepping out in the finest all the time. They know how fickle the economy is. However, they participate in 'Who can spend the most' olympics occasionally.

Our psychology is battling , dance battles, debating on soap boxes ,sports , light skin vs dark skin , verzuz now battling on social media . Thus we are battling in fashion trying to impress and win

I think it’s just Black people setting trends. Usually, it would be nonblack Hispanics and Asian kids dressing that way. If you ever see certain tweets of East Asian people going viral because of the way they dress, a lot of it is how Black people dressed in the early 2000s with some of their own culture influence.

You mean shallowness? People are shallow. White people aren’t generally raised to be oh so deep and wise. You could criticize our community, but I never understood why we always have to be compared to white people.

Honestly, love. It's kind of hurtful to see that being the only thing black people are not only capable but actively do. When that has been proven time and time again it is not the case. Or rather the perception is hurtful.

It is something lovely to move our bodies the way we do to music, to jump higher, to rhyme words together like no other, to encourage creativity. If battling is our psychology, then no wonder we progress by leaps and bounds like no other.

Edit: There are other things black people do quite wonderfully, we write, we become famous scientists, actors, the list goes on. I encourage to research and find them. It's a wonderful world out there and many black people have contributed to it.

Y’all tell on y’all selves with each and everyone of these posts

My exact sentiments regarding certain fonts in several threads.

If the majority of people that one comes into contact with dress like the photos in the OP and sport day-glo colored wigs and weaves as outlines in another recent thread, it speaks volumes about who and where that person chooses to surround him/herself with.

Where TF do some on these folks live....West Hell?

If someone is tired of seeing an awful style of dress and/or hair, it often speaks volumes about that person.

people think a hoody is equated to danger which is really stupid.

Hip hop today has been equated to criminality and that becomes associated with the fashion.

Is it time for a fashion change. What do you think we should change our fashion sense if you agree.

the very idea that all black people dress in the exact same way is stupid. on a side note, we, along with everyone else, will continue with the skinny jeans cause they make everyone look some kind of good.

I'm really feeling like OP is not black. They made that weird BLM conspiracy theory thread and this thread proves how little they know about Black Americans that they would say that.

the world is bigger than the Bay Area. We literally just voted out a flashy, trashy “rich” white man from NY. In texas there a plenty of rich whites stuntin for the gram and being flashy. People need to stop putting all these rules on what wealthy people will or will not do. These folks are individuals and will do what they want including flaunting their wealth.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels like OP is tripping. A simple scroll through instagram shows just how weak OP's argument is smh.

I don’t know any Black person that’s still dressing like Fatman Scoop and Timbaland in 2001. We aren’t a monolith and everybody has their own sense of style.

Fashion has been in a standstill for the last 27 years, everything today is more hip hop fashion. The baggy jeans are somewhat decline but not fully and today women are wearing tight jeans. The fashion sense has not really changed for the black community within 20 years.

Are we overdo to change our fashion. I feel like hip hop fashion has been so ingrained in our culture that it has become weaponized to stereotype. White society has always stereotyped black people but with hip hop fashion, people think a hoody is equated to danger which is really stupid.

Hip hop today has been equated to criminality and that becomes associated with the fashion.

Dressing is always a matter of personal choice.

Fashion is subjective. And also i disagree. Now more than ever black people are dressing how they feel & not to fit into a box

i dont care what white people think of black fashion sense. They will only emulate it and then still paint you as a thug because news flash, it’s not about the clothes

OP, are you black? Black men haven't been dressing like for at least the last 10-12 years.
This also reads as if English is not her first language. I had to read the post multiple times. It’s grammatically incorrect makes no sense.

Also, I’ve not heard anyone say hip hop fashion. And most men ain’t walking around dressed like rappers. I ain’t seen nobody dressed like the Migos or lil baby.

Your posts are just so... ugh.

Sometimes I wonder if you actually know black people in real life, because you make all these broadly generalized statements about black people that seem to be based on the most narrow media stereotypes from like 15 years ago.

I rather see a man wear 2005 attire then to be in the store fighting him over a dress. You didn’t suggest what you think black society should wear,
