Inspired by that trending thread.

I made my first and last trip to IKEA’s just before the pandemic hit and that food smelled nasty as hell.

On top of that, the whole building felt dirtier than a Chuck E. Cheese and children’s museum combined. It was packed.

I just didn’t understand how people were sitting down and eating in there. Of course, most of them were white, but still. I couldn’t see myself eating from there.

The cinnamon rolls are great and super cheap. Their cooked food tastes equivalent to lean cuisine.

I think the food is over hyped. I had the meatballs and I wasn't impressed. If you are there and need a quick snack then it's not so bad, similar to the hot dogs and pizza at Sam's or Costco.

Um, it was a staple during my college days for an easy meal while I studied for my next class. The meatballs are better, if you buy them frozen and cook them yourself at home. They can be mushy/TV dinner texture.

Their breakfasts were $0.99 for paper bacon or sausage, ida potatoes and powdered eggs. add a $1 for swedish crepes with lingonberry sauce. You can't beat that price.

Their cinnamon rolls used to be HUGE and delicious, almost homemade tasting. Now, they are decent, smaller ones.
The chicken tenders are trash. The fries are delicious and the mac and cheese is decent.

The only thing I miss is the lingonberry sauce. I stop by occasionally to pick up a jar of the sauce and grab a box of cinnamon rolls for nostalgia.

I got food poisoning after eating this there about 5 years ago. Since then I won't ever eat at IKEA! :arrogant
I'm so sorry. hugs
According to a relative, everybody raves about those Swedish meatballs. I was unaware of this. Swedish meatballs from IKEA just sounds gross. Lol.
They were bland in comparison to Italian meatballs.

You don't go for the food dullard. It's only there so you can have something to eat and NOT leave the store. And theres not that many items on the menu either.

LMAO. Like I didn’t know any of this before I asked the question. I just wanted to know if the food was any good.

The furniture is known to be cheap & basic. Why would anyone expect the food to be good? Sweden/Holland are not really known to be gastronomic nations.

Ikea restaurant food around here are decent. It's pretty cheap. I went several time for the breakfast and I'm always shocked how full the place was. I got swedish meatballs (pork, chicken and vegan version) and I like it. I'm weak for the frozen Daim cake.
I also picked up the peer cider, lingonberry syrup, some of these cookies when I go there.

I just buy the frozen meatballs and cook them at home. I was going to eat in their cafeteria once but it was not clean.

It's good!! You must get a side of the meatballs with lingonberry sauce and try their baked salmon + veggies.

It varies greatly by location. The Swedish meatball meal with fries & chocolate cake are the only items that give what it said it was supposed to gave to me. The "American" food downstairs was always the more reliable option.

I live near an IKEA and the restaurant is always packed, especially for Breakfast. At this point it more known for a breakfast spot than a furniture store.

Their carrot cake is very good, so is the cheesecake.
