I think he is one of the most talented rappers out there but people won’t see that because of church stigmatization.
He’s tried for years to break away from that image. I hope he’s successful this time. It would be a shame if his talent continues to be boxed in.
This. When it comes to lecrae, he seems to want acceptance from the world, other worldly rappers and to be in the same category as them.
This.
I feel like he's confused on weather he wants to be a Christian rapper or mainstream.
I low key think he wants to be mainstream but is afraid of what Christians will think of him.
Much respect for Lecrae for saying this. I hope more people feel more comfortable to express this without getting a lot of backlash. Praising the savior is very good but I don't think Life it self is about just praising and praying and communion (bread & wine) all day every day long. I think the point is to live life through the free will but understand the consequences of bad decisions you make. Live Love Laugh. God is love and spread the love in life. Be kindful to others and such.
Being sheltered in the church all day is not ideal. How are you really living (or experiencing) life if you not getting the experience in because you wanna be all squeezed up in the corner with the bible in your hand all the time. Learn to live a little. I think that's what Life was given to us for.
The purpose of Church is to be a means to fellowship with others, dive into the word and assist you with your personal walk with God. Church can be at someone's house with two or more people.
The issue comes when people make church and the people in it(like the pastor) an idol which leads to so much disappointment and dysfunction in certain churches.
Everyone has to accept responsibility for their own salvation.
No where in the bible does it say to be sheltered in church all day? Where did you get that from?
Also your post contains new age beliefs. Thats not exactly what the gift of life was given to us for(but if your not a Christian/ follower of Christ and his word, of course you have the right to believe what you want).
