Wish I had read this thread before getting dip (no tip). It's only been 24 hours and my nails are killing me. It's so heavy on my nails. I have never worn acrylic and would never due to nail health, so I wish I knew dip/acrylic were the same.

I already want to get some acetone and take it off.
Are your nails long? That’s the only way I’d do dip.

My nails go long and fast (it's irritating) as with gel you can see the new growth after a few days.

When I got the dip done, I did it on short nails. I had them cut my nails down since it's hard for me to type with long nails.

I just got dip done for the first time and I love it. It looks so good and feels weightless. It looks and feels exactly like my nails would with shellac but no chipping. I didn’t care for regular acrylic the two times I tried them.

I do my nails myself now following the Dip system that i posted earlier and they look great! I got fed up going to these rip off nail salons charging €60 for a crappy Fill in .
Invest in a really good brand and quality products, the powder is really just acrylic.
It's so quick , easy and convenient.

Best decision I've ever made.
Try it girls.

I think they’re a rip off for that cost in a salon. And the real gag is.....dip powders are super affordable for the average consumer and very easy to apply. Paint, dip, shake off, paint, dip, shake off, repeat. For that cost, you could buy several colors and have money left over.

I’m hooked on dip manicures. They look exactly like gel polish without the chipping or breaking. Mine aren’t thick at all. I removed it for a small surgery and my nails were normal underneath. I guess it depends on the nail tech.

I wouldn't get them done at the salon, I just know they reuse the powder.

This is my favorite video, the Kiss kit is a rip-off though.

I used just a regular acrylic powder from Amazon before.
Now I'm using polygel by Gershion fr amazon.
Haven't been to a nail salon in months! Takes practice, watch: longhairprettynails on YouTube, her videos are very helpful.

I love acrylic. I only do dip at home. I think it’s unsanitary getting dip at a shop. Dipping my nails into the same powder that another person used screams fungus infection.

I agree. That's the only way I was going to do the dip method. Did it for the first time a few days ago and like it. Also used like a mini scoop to put the powder on. That is so unsanitary to do it at the shop.

I like the idea of dip nails, but knowing that it's just another kind of acrylic keeps me from jumping in. I've never forgotten how long it took my nails to recover from acrylics many years ago. I'll just stick with DIYing my natural nails.
