Michael Weatherly’s ‘NCIS’ Costars Defend Him After Eliza Dushku’s xesual Harassment Allegation
By Kristen Vetter
December 15, 2018

Former costars, forever friends. Michael Weatherly‘s past colleagues are coming to his defense following an allegation that he made several xesually suggestive comments and jokes to Eliza Dushku while on the set of his series Bull.

“This man… I love, respect, trust, and I KNOW. TWO decades of friendship and respect. The best. I love you @M_Weatherly Always and forever,” Pauley Perrette tweeted on Saturday, December 15, along with a picture of the two of them smiling. (Perrette, 49, and Weatherly, 50, worked together on NCIS from the series’ inception in 2003 until his exit in 2016.)

Sasha Alexander echoed Perrette’s sentiments, tweeting a picture of herself smiling with the actor on Saturday, along with the caption, “I have been in trenches w/ my friend ⁦@M_Weatherly⁩. Always laughs, true friend & :loveas big as they come.” (Alexander, 45, and Weatherly were costars from 2003 to 2005, when her character, Caitlin Todd, was shot and killed.)

The New York Times reported on Thursday, December 13, that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress, 37, who appeared in a guest arc on the first season of Bull in 2017, was uncomfortable over remarks that the actor made in front of the cast and crew about her appearance.

According to the report, shortly after she confronted the actor about his behavior, she was written off the show, despite producer Glenn Gordon Caron saying he had plans to make her a series regular and a love interest for Weatherly.

The network eventually agreed to a confidential settlement that was the equivalent of what the actress would have earned if she’d remained on the show as a cast member for four seasons: $9.5 million.

Speaking to investigators in September, one month after she wed Peter Palandjian, Dushku told them that Weatherly said, “Here comes legs,” on a day when she was wearing a suit. On another occasion, he allegedly said, in front of the cast and crew, that he would bend her over his leg and spank her. She also claimed that he made an inappropriate comment about having a threesome with her and another cast member. Weatherly told investigators that he was joking and apologized to the star in a statement to the Times.

Dushku’s settlement came to light during an investigation into accusations of xesual misconduct made by multiple women against the network’s former chief executive Les Moonves.

Damn Pauley?!?! why?! Neither of them really needed to say anything. Michaels comments were gross and there really is nothing to say.

I hate when people, especially women do things like this. If you were not there, your opinion is not needed. I would never play myself by chiming in about an incident I had no privy to, just because I know the person. People act different from person to person. Maybe he didn't act like this with them because he didn't find them attractive. Maybe because unlike now, he wasn't lead on NCIS. Maybe he did act this way, but both of them are pick me' and laughed it off. Eliza had a right to be upset, especially after her past being molested on the set of True Lies. She's probably on edge already and Michael didn't help. He's the idiot who went to the higher-ups and got her written out of the show, when she was supposed to be promoted to a regular. Eliza handled this like an adult, Michael acted like a perverted, vindictive child.

I’m guessing they were paid to make statements cuz why would they put themselves in a position to be vilified when the evidence is out there AND a settlement was given?

Oh Pauley, why? Their friendships with Bull have nothing to do with his awful behavior to Eliza and the fact that she got let go for speaking up. They should have been good friends by letting him face the consequences and take his L. Let him sit in it without defending him. Be that friend.

They're getting lit up on Twitter, but I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of these 2 actresses who have supported #MeToo and #TimesUp-

As they should. Those women are so ridiculous. I don't care how good of a friend I am with a man I would never defend or support him unless I was there and know for a fact that he didn't do what people are claiming. The fact that this woman said he did it in front of the cast and crew and the fact that cbs paid her out shows that she wasn't lying and it is sad that women are willing to support someone who says something xesually inappropriate rather than call him out for it just because he is their friend, especially women who claim to support the metoo movement. You're right, they are hypocrites.

What a disgusting, trashy thing to do. CBS paid out $9.5 million, and there were tapes of some of the harassment. He did it.

Mr. Engstrom handed over outtakes from “Bull” in the belief that they would help the company’s cause, because they showed Ms. Dushku cursing on the set, investigators wrote in the draft of their report.

The strategy backfired. The outtakes were a “gold mine” for Ms. Dushku, the lawyers wrote, because they “actually captured some of the harassment on film.”

I would keep my mouth shut and see how things played out. You don’t know anyone, especially a coworker, the way you think you do.

If they want to support him, they should do it privately. I’m not risking my career for anyone, much less a former coworker. FOH.

And with Abby making the comments that she did about the environment on NCIS makes her opening her mouth even worse.

This was unnecessary. He's not being drawn and quartered or attacked to the same extent as the other MeToo men. In fact, his actions are being swept under the rug because they are just using this incident as evidence of the Moonves culture.

He made crude jokes. He admitted to doing it (and even if he didn't, it's believable). Eliza didn't claim xesual assault and no one said he demanded that she be fired-- so wtf is this "know him" bs?

I think that's exactly it. Look at his past relationships:

Amelia Heinle
Jessica Alba

And then he allegedly xesually harassed Eliza Dushku.

What do they all have in common? They are all bone-skinny brunette actresses. He definitely has a type. The actresses that spoke out in his defense don't fit the mold.

I might buy his inappropriate joke excuse had he not just met Eliza. You don't tell jokes like that to someone you don't know, especially someone new that you're working with. He's old enough to know that.

I don't really care about this. But I was shocked to see that Eliza is only 37. Wow, that means she must have been like 16 when she was on Buffy. I didn't realize she was that young.

The fact that these are women doing the caping disgusts me. CBS paid out for a reason, FACTS. I know that I’ve heard some sh!t about this dude before. I could have SWORN that there were complaints about him dating back to ‘Dark Angel’. Let me do some digging.

Nah. All three come from religious backgrounds, so it's possible that they got ahead by acting like they'd put out and then left the men who promised to put them on high and dry after they got what they wanted.

I do know that Jessica has always spoken about losing her virginity at 18 to Michael Weatherly (who was around 30) when they were filming Dark Angel. They were engaged for a while too. Then I guess she's been with Cash ever since.

Jessica-Alba-Michael-Weatherly.jpg
Hollywood wanted her to play hypersexual roles. They were concerned about her body, her virginity, and her relationship with Michael Weatherly. She always spoke about how uncomfortable it was that they were pushing her on the covers of men's magazine's and she was still technically a teen.

Let’s not forget this...yes, Jessica Alba was legal at 18 but wtf are you doing with her at 30? I’m disgusted. And for Pauley to come with that sh!t after what she has been through...are you kidding me?

They really pulled a Lena Dunham, who had to come back and apologize.

The interesting thing about this is that the cover up could bring down his show.

I love that show. I haven't really kept up with the cast and behind the scenes stuff, all these years.

All I know about Dushku is that she dated Rick Fox.

They are both disgusting. They had no damn reason to publicly say a damn thing about a situation and experience that in no way involved them. Nobody gives a damn that he is your friend. Your friend's bosses paid a woman $9.5 million, because they found his actions toward her to be inappropriate. Their is no grey area here. The matter has been investigated, and a conclusion has been reached. Sit your asses down and call your little rapey ass friend in private.

Pauley should know better considering her own issues with being pushed out of a TV show because of the actions of the lead actor. I'm sure Mark Harmon could find some co-stars willing to sing his praises even though he's extremely inconsiderate.

Dang. I know what it’s like when someone you liked and trusted gets accused of something serious. I would never post support like this, especially if it turns out to be true. I think it’s such a slap in the face to the victim. Sometimes we have to realize that just because someone is cool to you doesn’t mean they are to someone else.

Why are people surprised about white women acting like this? They are not a monolith that protects their own. They are individualists and will manipulate and structure whatever they can as leverage to get their way. Ask any Black dude in the sunken place. Ask any Black feminist that thought they were sisters. Ask the angry, incel white men on reddit.

None of this is surprising.

Especially since she can’t defend herself and these two know that she can’t defend herself. Ugh

Just because he didn't hit on them doesn't mean he's not a predator. CBS isn't paying off someone and their dude is innocent. There was video proof and they had him dead to rights.
