This is my first post. So please bare with me.

I had a baby a few months ago and have been exclusively breastfeeding. But over the past few weeks my milk supply has been dwindling.

I have tried munchkin lactation tea, cookies, and chocolate chip bars as well as fenugreek capsules. I haven't noticed a major difference.

I would like to order products that actually work. Preferably some that work fast. But I would like honest reviews from people who actually tried them and got good results.

I really do not want to give my baby formula at all if it can be avoided. If anyone is willing to share what worked for them I would greatly appreciate it. Thabks.

Make sure you are eating regularly and drinking plenty of water. Nurse your baby OFTEN. At least every 90 minutes or more often if your baby wants. You can also try Brewers Yeast. When I was worried about my supply I would put it in my smoothies.

Thanks. I will definitely try the brewer's yeast. I eat regularly and drink tons of water already. I nurse as often as baby wants. Not sure if its every 90 minutes though.

Do you have a breast pump?

What makes you think your supply is dropping? if you mostly nurse, around 4 months, many find that their breasts no longer engorge if they go a while without nursing and that baby drains the milk in like 5 minutes instead of the 15-20 minutes like they used to. It’s because baby has become better/stronger at getting the milk and the boobs have gotten more efficient at producing faster.

I also lost supply in one breast around this time, my baby still stayed at the 90th percentile until she weaned at 22 months.

Eat 1 cup of oatmeal everyday - always worked for me.

Also, nettle tea.

Is your supply really dropping though? Around 4 months is a huge growth spurt - just nurse often.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I do have a pump. But have slowed down on pumping a little.

Thank you. I can incorporate oatmeal into my diet and see if that helps.

More than anything you eat, power pumping will bring up your supply in 24-48 hours (if it turns out your supply is decreasing after all). If you are exclusively nursing with no formula, and baby is doing well on number of dirty diapers, I don’t think you are losing supply. Your breasts are just changing and not “feeling” as full.

Google power pumping sample schedules and see which one fits in your daily routine and do that. You won’t yield much in the pumped bottles but your supply will increase in 2 days.

If you like coconut water drink some to increase milk supply that and body armour drinks but they have sugar and coconut water in them but they work too.

Honestly what helped me with my daughter when my supply was getting low was stressing less, eating more, and pumping more regularly between feedings. I tried the teas and omg they were gross. I couldn’t do it. I figured that I had to do things the old fashioned way. Good luck mama! You got this!

Are you working also? It could be stress related. If you are not working try to pump milk after baby feeding so you can up your milk supply. Its tough breastfeeding but hang in there you got this? Also make sure to eat alot because you burn 500 calories breast feeding. My lactation consult told me even if all you can make is a pot of soup to last a week.

Fenugreek can have the opposite effect and reduce your supply. Move milk to make milk. If you pump, try power pumping. Good luck!
