So I’m moving to Thailand in a few weeks! I’m super excited but getting anxious as the date approaches. Does anybody have any last minute advice about Thailand, long haul flights, or just traveling in general?

Does anyone here live abroad, specifically SE Asia?

I’m so scared I’m going to forget [to do] something important.

I’d love to hear advice, tips, stories etc

Oh and I’ll be living in Chiang Mai

What happened to the divorce situation? What about your daughter?

I’m assuming you have the wrong font lmao. I’m single with no kids.

There is another font with my same Rihanna profile pic I’ve seen around.

You are definitely living my dream!! planning to move there for a few years myself after I finish grad school ;-) I always watch House Hunter's International to try to orient myself to any city even if only for travel. They have done a few episodes on Chang Mai, here is the link to one. This will at least give you an idea of what to expect and the different areas of town.

House Hunters International goes to Chaing Mai, Thailand

For long haul flight. I flew premium economy, it’s worth it and airlines are probably having good sales. I flew Singapore air. Bring your own full size pillow. I didn’t take anything for the ny to Frankfurt leg of the trip but Frankfurt to Singapore, I took a sleep aid (Xanax) and woke up refreshed . For Thailand, invest in some non toxic mosquito spray, you’ll need it. Not sure where you’re from but Thailand is humid so it can be an adjustment.

my best friend lived there for years, i never lived there only went on vacay for 2 weeks. it was BOMB. definitely a top spot for me. the only tip i have is food is more expensive in the grocery store than eating out. you can eat like the king of kings for 8$. have fun going to all the restaurants. my favourite foods were the steamed fish, basil chicken and papaya salads. they have all sorts of different ethnic cuisines aswell but thai food is the bomb

You’ll be fine as long as you don’t say anything negative about the king... they still jail you if you talk against him
