Gorgeous Chinese dragon nails
Amen! ♡ The art technique is incredible. That is art. I would appreciate it on anything. Impressive that it's so small yet full of detail.
Do you use one that soaks off or do you have to file it off? I did builder gel overlays for a while but I switched to basic gel polish because I hated filing it all the way down and found infills super annoying. I prefer being able to soak gel off but I haven’t been able to grow my nails out as quickly as I’d like because they’re not as strong with just gel. I’m considering going back to overlays but I want to avoid the filingDid a fresh clear builder gel overlay last night and went back to my traditional squoval shape.
I use soak off gels, but I have to file 'em down really low or else the soaking takes foooooreeeeeeverrrr. The nail strength with builder gel just cannot be beat though.Do you use one that soaks off or do you have to file it off? Sorry for bumping old thread but I was looking for nail soak tips. Is this to warm up the acetone? Does that make it soak off faster because it's warm?I use 2 old plastic containers, both the same size. 1 container for acetone, then the other to put hot water in. I boil hot water and place it in the non-acetone container, then place the acetone container on top with cotton balls/pads. My dip powder or gel polish comes off within 10-13 minutes. Instead of soaking off for 30 minutes with foil wraps. Just make sure the container used to soak off with can fit both hands inside.
Not the person you’re responding to, but yes it does. I’ve had this done at the salon and I’ve done it myself at home. The heat makes a differenceSorry for bumping old thread but I was looking for nail soak tips. Is this to warm up the acetone? Does that make it soak off faster because it's warm?
thanks, I just ordered those containers above because you can put the boiling water in the bottom. I want to get these things off but the idea of soaking for an hour gives me anxiety, lolNot the person you’re responding to, but yes it does. Yes! The hot water warms up the acetone. Gel Polish comes off easy with this method, as well as Acrylics or Hard Gels.Sorry for bumping old thread but I was looking for nail soak tips. Is this to warm up the acetone? Does that make it soak off faster because it's warm?
Do you file them first? I like to file them down as low as I can with my e-file and then soak. It makes it go way faster. If you don’t have an e-file you can also just use a hand filethanks, I just ordered those containers above because you can put the boiling water in the bottom. The bowl set I ordered from Amazon comes with some special rough nail files so I can use those to take off the gel coat and rough up the acrylic surface to help the soak go faster. I’ll report back on how it goes.Do you file them first? I like to file them down as low as I can with my e-file and then soak. It makes it go way faster. I use a regular 180 grit to gentle file the top coat off my nails, in this case dip powder. My soak-off time is usually 10 minutes 13-15 if I've had dip powder on longer than 2 weeks.Do you file them first? I like to file them down as low as I can with my e-file and then soak. I wear gloves always when I'm cleaning and washing dishes. It's a must if you don't like getting your nails done every 2 weeks.I stopped doing my nails late last year because it felt like I was constantly cleaning the house and ruining them. I've invested in some cleaning gloves.
Cute nails all 2024!
Idk why my thing quoted you twice, but oh well.Went to a new nail tech and loved the whole experience, now one week later one the nails popped off. Idk how to feel yall. It's a nude manicure with builder gel and whole thing just popped off.
Maybe I take too long showers in too hot water ???
I have one those brushes for hair, but I don't use gloves.Idk why my thing quoted you twice, but oh well.
I would be disappointed too. When I started doing builder gel manis I read that some women wear disposable gloves in the shower (secured by rubber band) so as to limit prolonged water exposure, along with gloves during dishes. I definitely find that my nails last longer and have minimal lifted spots when I use gloves. When I wash my hair, be it in the sink or shower, I wear the gloves, and I use a silicone shampoo massager with long teeth (example pictured below) to really cleanse my scalp.

I've purchased both of these before, depending on which was cheaper at the time. They're not too thick but they're flexible. They both work great and even stand up to multiple shower uses (wash your hands before you don the gloves, bathe/lotion/etc, wash and dry your gloved hands before turning the glove inside out to remove from your hand, set aside for next use).
