My Dad had perfect nails until he had a stroke over 2 years ago.
I'm pretty sure multiple courses of antibiotics during his 6 week stay at the hospital/rehab caused the discoloration.
His nails went from healthy pink to black/grey on over half his nails. He hates how they look. He's been to multiple derms, though none Black, and they say there's no health issue and no real treatment for the discoloration.
I find it hard to believe nothing can be done. Given his age, I don't want him to try to get them sanded down because that can really thin the nail. But is there really no topical treatment that could improve it? He's very embarrassed by it.
