What brand of airfryer do you have? It's so hard to find one that makes good sweet potato fries.

Its an old brand called Cooks. Honestly, I agree. My sweet potato fries are not all the way crispy. I read reviews on YouTube that sweet potato fries cannot have that crispy texture ever because they are naturally soft. If you want fries that are actually crispy, you need to use a different kind of potato - brown russet potatoes

i started thinking my airfryer is more like a oven because i made a homemade pizookie! cookies in the airfryer is so quick and simple i can pop two in there for 10-11 minutes and voila beautiful cookies are done

anything i could put in the oven i could do in the airfryer

At what temp do you guys fry your cookies? I feel so basic..I just substitute the air fryer for anything that’s typically fried in grease or oven. Though those Morning Star Veggitizers Pizza Rolls taste amazing in the Air fryer I almost threw the bag away because I didn’t like the taste in the oven.

Chicken is good in it. But not whole wings. Those need oil. I actually gave mine away lol. Nothing beats cast iron cooking for me. Are you really slaying in the kitchen if you don’t have a le cruset or a few cast iron skillets?
I’m curious how everyone raves about air fryer food being sooo good. But still prefer the stove and oven for holiday food, or their favorite upscale restaurant that for sure doesn’t use an air fryer. It must not be that amazing.
Yes it makes good food for some weeknight stuff. I’ve tried air fryer cake, that’s a hard no for me. I prefer from scratch. Call me Ina lol

It's perfect for roasting garlic

Also the typical stuff: chicken, vegetables, tostados, tortilla chips.

My favorite way to use it is to revive regular fried foods. Like if I make fried chicken, I heat up the leftovers in the airfyer the next day and it tastes even better. If you're careful with time you can even bring McDonald's fries back to life.

I tried cookies a few times and they didn't turn out that nice, but maybe I did something wrong.

I was worried about that but mine were pretty juicy. I marinated mine overnight and cooked it on 360 for 8 mins and 400 for the last 8 minutes.

What cut did you use? I tried it with ribeye. I've tried 375 varying btw 5-10 mins and it's always dry. I marinate and spray the top with olive oil.

salmon in the air fryer is usually a go-to for me, (with foil down but not covering the whole thing so the air can still circulate without having to deal with cleaning the skin of the salmon out the little gaps)

mom has made donuts in it once though... don't ask how, not sure but they were goooood LOL

When I first got an air fryer, used it to bake but it didn't turn out so good.

It's best for fish and veggies - that's just me.

I even use it to quickly thaw something sometimes.

You MUST spray oil otherwise you'll be eating dry ass food. I don't think it's the best investment tbh.

I have not fried chicken in oil since I got my air fryer two years ago. Now granted, I've only done wing dings and never tried to do whole pieces of chicken (I think I would still use a stove for that) but my wing dings are SO good in the fryer. It took some experimentation to get the temps and times correct for the right crispiness but now, I'd never go back to oil or oven frying.

I love my air fryer, I am not super creative tho. I just do wings in there.

I threw a pork chop in there. It was so juicy

Every time I try to cook wings or any type of meat in my air fryer there's a lot smoke. Now it's just collecting dust cuz I don't have time for the smoke, the detector going off and everything smelling like my house was on fire.

I might try again this weekend.e6

Really... lemme try something...

Roasted vegetables. It's a lot easier than in the stove and tastes great.
I can attest to this!

Do you spray oil over your chicken before air frying or just season and stick them bad boys in?
Personally I don’t add oil, I just season up my thighs and leave them for a couple hours to marinate then I pop them in skin down for 8 minutes then turn them over (skin up) for 12 minutes at 180c and they turn out perfect - I have a ninja airfryer.

I haven’t used my oven since I got my airfryer in November last year. I’ve done

Roast veggies
Aubergine crisps
Steak
Salmon
Sea bass
Tilapia
Breaded plaice
Chicken thighs & wings
Paprika Sweet potato fries
Frozen fries

I make everything in that b!tch. Vegetables, chicken, steak, lamb, I need to find ramekins that can fit in there so I can make more things.

Hmmmm...just be careful. I've never gotten any smoke from my fryer regardless of the food that's cooking or heating. I wonder if maybe you have a defective unit?

Mine would smoke as well when I spray it with cooking oil spray.

When I do not put the cooking spray on it, my smoke detector doesn't go off.

We’ve had ours for about a year and I’m still scared to cook raw meat in there lol. So I always just put vegetables, potatoes, and leftovers in there. All 3 come out great, cooks faster and tastes better than in the oven. One day I’ll cook wings in it.

Toaster oven
  • rice :arrogant
  • baked mackerel
  • baked sweet potatoes
  • baked sweet potato fries, crispy outside, soft inside and dash of cinnamon
  • baked beans
  • bbq chicken
  • cookies
  • brownies
  • mac and cheese
  • muffins
  • breakfast muffin (just some teared bread, egg and cheese)

I'm against standing over the stove to cook a meal. I don't want to watch my food cook. I just need to make sure nothing burns.
Between the air fryer and my pressure cooker It's been sweet lol.

Finally got a Ninjafoodi. Wal-Mart seems to have the cheapest version- Grill/Roast/Air Fburyer/Bake . Made burgers so far on the grill and loved them!!!

Just got a porterhouse from Publix, can’t wait to fire it up. Still collecting ideas, want to get to chicken and salmon next.
I would be scared as He'll to fck up a good piece of meat in that thing. Lol. A porterhouse you say? Good luck. Im not ready to chance it. I'm not impoverished or anything...juzt saying. Lol. Seriously though right now I'm sticking to the basics until I learn what I'm doing. .Maybe one day.

I have made cookies in the air fryer and they come out perfect. A little crispy on the outside but soft and ooey gooey in the middle. I make almost everything in the air fryer . Chicken- wings, thighs, legs and quarters(you can make it like baked/roasted or toss in seasoned flour/cornstarch for fried), salmon, steak, bacon, sausage, asparagus, lobster tails, even ribs. And I love to throw leftovers in there to heat them up vs using a microwave. I have two of them and I literally couldn’t live without. It’s my favorite kitchen appliance.

I did brussell sprouts sliced in half, coated with minced garlic, olive oil adobo season and black pepper. Very good!

Please do share, because I've been trying to get mine cripsy and I'm failing miserably. Though they are good!

It's only with meat, maybe I sprayed too much canola oil. I'm gonna try it again.

I made a roast turkey breast for Thanksgiving in mine and it had the perfect crust and juiciness.

I also tried breaded pork chops in it. The pork chops’s breading didn’t come out too well cause I didn’t spritz with enough oil to get the right crunch but they were juicy AF.
