Roasted vegetables. It's a lot easier than in the stove and tastes great.
I was lazy for a meal yesterday, didn't want meat only veggies.

I seasoned some cabbage slices, brussel sprouts and cauliflower - threw it in the air fryer!

MAN!!! that was a good quick meal

wings, i just add a table spoon of oil and baking powder and they become crispy af, will never make baked wings again.
I learned that if you coat your chicken in baking soda and cornstarch, put them in the fridge to get really dry and then place in the air fryer, they will be even more crispy!

I have not fried chicken in oil since I got my air fryer two years ago. Now granted, I've only done wing dings and never tried to do whole pieces of chicken (I think I would still use a stove for that) but my wing dings are SO good in the fryer. It took some experimentation to get the temps and times correct for the right crispiness but now, I'd never go back to oil or oven frying.

Same. My air fryer flats and drums are a consistent favorite in my household.
I coat the wings in a ziploc bag with a little bbq sauce. Then season with garlic salt, jerk seasoning, parsley and a bit of pepper. 12 minutes on each side at around 350degrees and you’ve got some crispy and flavorful wings!

Every time I try to cook wings or any type of meat in my air fryer there's a lot smoke. Now it's just collecting dust cuz I don't have time for the smoke, the detector going off and everything smelling like my house was on fire.

I might try again this weekend.e6
Do you make sure the is enough space all around the air fryer? It needs space to circle especially the top and back. You can't have it like under a cabinet

See, someone gave us their new one without directions. I been meaning to look online cause I don't know what time and temps to use.

I'm all for trial an error but not with my food.

What cut did you use? I tried it with ribeye. I've tried 375 varying btw 5-10 mins and it's always dry. I marinate and spray the top with olive oil.
Dang I used ribeye too. It was a thick cut, I don’t know if that made any difference but it sounds like you did everything right! I’d try again, don’t give up!

Does anyone think the air fryer for vegans is a good investment? I normally pan fry/bake everything. Y’all are killing men with these wing recipes tho.

I keep it simple. I’ve only tried “boiled” eggs, some veggies, and chicken (wings, tenders, breast, etc.).

My grandparents got one for Christmas. My grandma called me RAVING last week because she made fatback in it.

Like, Mrs. Ma’am, who told you to do that?

I over heard my kids teacher say she made cookies in her air fryer and said “You’ve never had a cookie until you air fryer it”

giphy.gif

I’m like damn... Let me try

Did it make her cookies hard, I wonder? I like all my cookies to be on the softer, moister side, seems like an air fryer would dry them out

gnocchi (from frozen) I like it better this way
ravioli (same as above)
ahi tuna steaks (I liked it my mom wasn't wowed by it)
broccoli
potatoes
zucchini/courgettes
eggplant/aubergines

I always use a light coating of oil so starchy based food wouldn't dry out.

how did you do the sweet potatoes?

I wash the outside of the potato, rub olive oil on it and sprinkle it with salt and pop in in my air fryer. It makes it easier to peel the skin of the potato off when it’s done.

Maybe coating it with some butter might help? Otherwise, just fry it up in an iron skillet.

I've really only used it to make salmon. I make my fries in there but haven't been creative. I'm mostly pescetarian and I didnt like the shrimp I put in there but the veggies are a good idea.

Does anyone feel like the air fryer has a weird smell while it's cooking? It was stronger at first but I still smell it. I cant explain it. It just doesn't smell like food cooking.

Like plastic is burning or some weird chemical?

Yes! My man is vegetarian. He uses it a lot.
The other day he made a spaghetti quash casserole- delicious!
He made some vegan fried chicken using oyster mushroom- also delicious.

i made a bomb-ass shrimp risotto straight from the ninja foodi recipe book....restaurant quality! and it was my first time making risotto and i know its not easy to make on stove, just by watching cooking shows. i barely use my stove or oven anymore

ETA: does anyone worry about losing your stove/oven cooking skills due to over-use of air-fryer? or is this just the future of cooking? lol

I made a lemon blueberry pound cake with almond flour. It was so good and it wasn't overly sweet.

Everything. Stove is closed until the holidays.
Exactly, I use them for turkey burgers, the best meatballs, my jerk chicken wings. On the bake function, I've made hot water cornbread. Reheat is the truth for leftover fries.

what temps and time did you find made the perfect wing dings? I have yet to have the right results.

Make sure your not putting aluminum foil in it.

I spray mines all the time but there is less smoke/burning when you don’t spray.

I just hate when the meat sticks to the pan.

How do you prevent the edges of the grilled cheese from getting overly crunchy before the toast has browned and the cheese has melted?
