Wordoid.com is a webapp that strives to help you invent a good name. It makes up new words. Automagically. It knows how to create words in English or Spanish. It even knows how to create words in an imaginary language, constructed by blending two or more real languages together.

I also tells you if the name domains are available.

The rules when picking the name for a new business are deeply ingrained in common sense. Basically, you must pick a name which has two main characteristics: being short and being catchy. A short name ensures that people will not only remember it effortlessly, but will be also capable of recommending it through word of mouth.

These are the variables the tool allows:

Languages. Select one language to get wordoids constructed according to the rules of that language. Select two or more to blend the tastes of several languages.

Quality. Quality level defines how wordoids look, sound and feel. The higher it is, the more they resemble the natural words of the selected languages.

Pattern. Wordoids may begin with, end with or contain a short fragment. Enter something, or leave the field empty to create completely random wordoids.

Length. Set the maximum length of the wordoids. Short wordoids tend to look better than long ones.

Thank you OP. I named my business after my grandmother who transitioned in June of 2011, one day after her 78th birthday. Her name was Lilliian June, born and died in the month of June, so I named my business Lillies In June in her memory. It has special meaning for me, it's short, and it's catchy. Some nittwitt questioned my spelling the word Lilies with two l's. Of course I said that it was a play on my grammas name, but I had no idea that Lilies was spelled with only one L.

Finding a name isn't hard. It is finding one that will pass USPO trademark standards that is hard. Thanks for posting.

I planned to legally change my business name. It appears the name I want may not be available. Using another business' name as my own would not be a smart money move, so what did I do? I reserved the name I want, and just in case it's not available, I included a 2nd and 3rd name choice when reserving my new business name. Now, I will just have to wait to find out which name I can use before taking the next step.

I also want to add that when I signed up here, I tried to create the name "ProfessionalLad y." Instead, I accidentally left the "y" off and ended up with "ProfessionalLad ." I'm not a man. I'm a woman.

A pain in the ass.
Name, legal entity, registration, url, facebook and twitter...all with the same name that no one has.
Just accomplished this.

I picked a name that without me knowing was the last name of a famous actor on a tv show. The site ended up on Google's page 1

That’s a really good thing, right? It may suck bc people may associate your business with the actor, but when weighing out the pros and cons, that’s not much of a dealbreaker?

Genuine question. I’m still learning.
