New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug stanozolol and will be suspended for the entire 2021 season, according to a statement by commissioner Rob Manfred.

It is the second PED suspension for Cano, 38, who missed 80 games in 2018 after testing positive for a diuretic while with the Seattle Mariners.

Smh, it's 2020 man, and players still out here doing this ish? How dumb is he? This is his 2nd time being busted for this. He got busted while on the Mariners and now this. Let's be honest. He was probably doing stuff while on the Yankees and the legitimacy of his entire career comes into question.

This is actually good news for the Mets, though. They just freed up $24 Million.

For the second time?! I don’t even know why he felt the need to do this, I wonder how the Mets under new ownership will handle this, he’s owed money for 4 more years. It’s gonna call into question his entire career. Mets have more money to play with, Yanks just lost their second basemen

Rejoice.

He forfeited his 2021 salary. We already have a second basemen that is 10 years younger with better range. Cano is signed through 2023. By then they can figure it out.

The GM that was fired last week use to be Cano’s agent and negotiated this contract. Then he become the Mets GM and trades for him. It was a terrible move by a terrible executive.

I saw that! The richer getting richer in terms of the Mets, they really are in the best position to spend this off season with every other owner poor. I can see them trading Cano or just having him as a bench guy when he comes back in 2022. I knew BVW was a terrible GM but I didn’t know he was Cano’s agent. That trade was horrendous, he dealt Kelenic to the Mariners and he’s about to be a stud. I saw some baseball insiders saying Mets are now interested in LeMahieu but if you have a way younger second baseman ready I doubt it. Coupons were absolutely terrible and I can only hope Cohen hires a way better front office.

How did I miss that Robinson Cano is with the Mets now? I thought he was either still with the Yankees or retired.

AGAIN????

I remember being so upset when he went to Seattle. I am so glad we avoided all this. It's so sad he's going out like this.

He really messing up the bag and I'm talking about a guaranteed bag excluding suspensions. Look at the Orioles Chris Davis he literally can't hit for sh!t and it's still getting a bag for the last three or four years.
