I was gonna say if he had a permit what's the problem but the gas mask is suspicious and why was he stupid enough to pull it out in a train platform, it looks like he just brought it, he coulda waited till he got home.

In New York City, only adults at least 21 years of age or older can purchase or own a firearm with a permit or license issued by the NYPD.

There is also no open carry.

Exactly! Add to the fact he is from Ohio and is in Times Square. There is plenty wrong with this. You can't be too careful these days!

He's an idiot but I hate how the media is quick to call Black teenagers " man " or " woman " when they feel like it...

I wish it wasn't so easy to get guns in this country. I'm so sick of all the violence.

Are AK-47’s legal to own? That not a handgun or typical firearm. That is a weapon of war.

In general, however, a true AK-47 has a fully automatic setting, which is illegal in the United States. Models with semi-automatic settings are available and legal in the US. Manufacturers cannot make or import fully automatic weapons for the civilian market. But you can still legally buy a fully automatic AK-47.

The story was written kinda sloppily, which is to expected from the Daily Mail, making no mention of where the AK was bought, because it does not mention where he bought the firearm. Plus it says he pulled it out on the subway platform but also says the police attracted to him when they saw it sticking out of his backpack, and rightly so because the full firearm will not fully fit in a back pack, so which is the truth, he pulled it out of his backpack or the police saw it sticking out of his backpack.

The feds refused to come when they were alerted, feeling based on the information relayed to them, the local police could handle it.

A take away for travelers -- check the local laws because what's allowed in your state may not be allowed in another.

To be 100% honest.. when I first heard the headline and the two words "gun" and "arrested" together in one sentence, I automatically assumed he was white.

Was this a long drawn out case of suicide by cop? Seems like more.

At this point, America is never going to do anything about gun control. The money made is selling guns is worth more than the lives that are taken, especially the young lives. The media continues to hype up these events and then we get more idiotic shootersw. It’s a vicious cycle. God forbid a few people lose access to their legal guns so we can rid the streets and schools of violence like this.

BYE to all the fonts talking about what's the problem...if you remember 9/11 or the Boston Marathon bombings or the Orlando shootings OR the DC Sniper, absolutely NOBODY wants to be in dense NYC or any major city with a nut carrying around an automatic weapon.

And honestly I don't see why one would assume this is staged or act surprised by this. (Respectfully) Every time I'm in the city, there's some fµck sh!t I witness.

I was in midtown once around 7pm, heading to a very touristy rooftop, and this black man walked by my friend and I (came from behind us) with two HUGE butcher knives. One in each hand. The NYPD showed up within 60 seconds. He could have slit our throats. People are WILD af and walking around mentally unstable and incredibly violent.

I was in midtown a few weeks ago and this yt guy started punching the garbage cans on the street and screaming.

I need to stay outta midtown chileee lmao

America is about the money, which is why people from poor countries leave their *beautiful* countries to flock here -- to see if they can get in on the money.

With these guns though, it is not about the money, it's about American whites being in love with guns and gun ownership that any mention of gun laws sends them in a frenzy of *omg, they're trying to take away our guns*. Half their state could get shot up by a mass shooter and it would not be about the money made off gun sales, but about *as long as they don't take our guns away, we good.*

Are you one of our American lurkers, or one of our foreign lurkers?

The subtle attempts made by fonts in here trying to excuse this boy’s behavior is weird. His black identity is not important compared to the potential victims he would’ve harmed or killed.

But you can still legally buy a fully automatic AK-47.

Some context: they are incredibly expensive collectors items (think around $30,000- $100,000 each) and the purchase requires ATF approval.

So it isnt like any old person is just getting their hands on these things

Saadiq's father Andrew Teague, 43, was shot dead by police last month in Ohio

Cops who happened to be patrolling the station noticed and arrested him.

It's unclear what he planned to do with the weapon.

Teague's father Andrew, 43, was shot dead by Ohio cops last month after opening fire on them during a chase.

They had a warrant out for his arrest for felonious assault and were pursuing him in his car.

He drove away for them then stopped on a highway and opened fire.

The cops returned fire and killed him.

It remains unclear when Saadiq bought the gun, or if he did so legally.

He remains in custody in New York City and the FBI is investigating.

Andrew Teague led police on a chase in Columbus, Ohio, then opened fire on officers when he came to a stop. There was a warrant out for his arrest for felony assault
