and why are they famous? There are about ten of them and one of them is wears an off brand Michael Jackson jacket. They are really trying to make this K-Pop thing happen in the U.S. For those who are unaware of Part I, it was the same question directed toward BTS.

NCT is a boy group from South Korea (as you know). They have multiple units, you likely saw NCT 127, which consists of 10 members. The ten members are Taeyong, Mark, Jungwoo, Johnny, Jaehyun, Doyoung, Taeil, Winwin, Haechan, and Yuta. Here are some of their songs:

The reason they are famous in South Korea is because fans like them, they came over to America because they have a huge fanbase here as well. 3 speak fluent English and the others are learning as well. The Kpop thing isn’t being forced since there is a high demand in America and elsewhere.

I left K-Popland 4 years ago, but the past week I've been playing "Touch" on a loop. I don't know why, but I love it.

It might be the little dance because I also watch "Cherry Bomb" just for the choreography.

Part of the blame lies with Jason Derulo

I just saw this performance on JC show. That was what exposed me to them in the first place.

Then why are you asking a question you know the answer to?

Because I wanted a little more background from people who follow them and know more about them than I do. The original posts is supposed to be cheeky, but at the same time, I am simultaneously curious as to why K-Pop is becoming bigger in the states and why this band, NCT 127, stands out compared to other K-Pop bands who have attempted to cross over in the U.S., excluding BTS, especially considering that we're at a time in the U.S. where American boy bands are not thriving. In addition, as I said earlier, I just saw this performance on the James Corden Show this morning and I heard absolutely nothing of them, which was different from BTS for me as I heard about BTS to some degree such as promo, multiple live performances at major shows, internet presence, etc.

If you're still interested there's a whole thread on them.

Getting to know NCT 127!
