Can anyone please provide me with a good, simple, pepper steak recipe? (Soul food, not Asian). On my way to the market and don’t know if I should get sirloin or flank. Help a b*tch out pls!

I always use flank steak when I make pepper steak.

Unfortunately, I think my version is what you consider Asian inspired rather than soul food.

What is "soul food" pepper steak?
Just a steak with cut up bell peppers in it?
Do you have an imagination?

Can't vouch for the guy, but as a good home cook, recipe looks legit. Okay, I didn't like how he rinsed cooked rice and typically that's not how I make gravy, or even see how gravy is made.
But you can get some ideas.

Just pan fry some steak in your favorite seasonings, s&p, paprika, onion, garlic, and maybe some creole seasoning. Take meat out, then pan fry onion, garlic, peppers - season as well. Then add tomato paste, water, finish with a little butter and adjust seasonings. Last few minutes, put meat back in to absorb the flavors.
