This poll is inspired by a job I saw advertized long ago, where it wanted a testimonial from your PASTOR to accompany your job application.

Knowing what I know about people with religions, I would not even read the application.

One of the things about Christianity in particular that is problematic is that I would not be able to trust a Christian with matters involving money.

There are three kinds of people who wear the Christian label:

1) The kind that believe there is no problem leading an immoral life on earth because all you have to do is repent - your gift from Jesus.

2) The kind that is the biggest crook ever and knows Christians are so stupid, you can manipulate them like Play Dough.
For example: Trump

3) The Christian that lives by the teachings of Jesus. An exceptionally rare breed although they do exist ... but I believe they would be good people with or without any religion.

I would find it more odd than anything and see it as more an ignorance of how to write a proper resume. Rather than view it as a malicious facet to list. I would skip their resume due to it simply being inappropriate.

Well, I wouldn't discriminate against anybody based on their religion, but it is mighty odd for a company to require reference from a pastor for a job application. Was it a religious job at a church or something? Otherwise, that's some weird ass sh!t and I wouldn't even want to work for that company. I ain't religious and I have no pastor.

Me 'hiring' someone that puts their religion on their resume only if I were a pimp catering to Christian pastors, deacons and members of their church that are the biggest group of patrons of prostitutes reaffirms my atheism!!

I guess the testimonial from the pastor is like a reference, but more on the character of the applicant? Still weird tho!
I wouldn't care honestly, if they have the required qualifications and have no problems disclosing their religion. It wouldn't change the final outcome...

No, paper qualifications are not enough. You know that's how the likes of Brett Kavanaugh got his jobs in the LEGAL domain, right?

In my experience with Jesus stans, you don't trust them with your wallet.

a lot of churches hire people for media/technical positions these days, so if it was for a role there than I wouldn’t think anything of it. Otherwise? No that’s odd.
